Great shots, everyone! So it seems the 13/13 Mini were a nice camera upgrade from 12/12 Mini. The 13 Pro has of course the 3x zoom lens and the new macro feature- does anyone here feel they are missing out by not having those two features?

I had the 13 Pro for a short period. I was less than impressed with the camera quality, maybe I expected too much but I personally preferred the images from the 13 mini.
The telephoto is nice BUT the phone doesn’t always use that lens unless it’s really good lighting and then you just get digital zoom which is no different to what you’d get on a 13/13 mini. Battery life was good though and the screen was nice but not a deal breaker for me.

Interesting, thanks for that detail! You're right, if I could zoom in digitally to 2x on a mini and get similar results to using the zoom lens on the pro, then that would remove a lot of the reason I'd want to get the Pro in the first place.

The macro capability is cool, but maybe not worth the extra cost if that is the one remaining reason to upgrade!

I love experimenting with the camera, but have been impressed with what the mini can do. I've had the 11 Pro and other pro models in the past and find myself never really using the features like I would've.

What about ProRaw? Did you toy around with that a bit when you had the Pro to see if it was really any good?

I use a DSLR for landscape photography each weekend when going out on hikes. I had this hope that on some rare occasions I could leave the DSLR at home and use the 13 Pro, using ProRaw to maybe get by with some half way decent shots that I can manipulate into images that are almost as good as what I get out of the DSLR (I shoot RAW there, too).

I suspect from what you said about the 13 Pro's cameras in general, that this is truly just a pipe dream?

Well I haven’t held a 13 Pro yet, but I imagine the picture quality is amazeballs. Main reason to that is due to the weight. Not a fan of heavy phones.

as far as Pro Raw, if it was available back then on the 11P, I don’t think I did.

Does anyone know if you can take portrait photos of objects with the mini? And if so, can someone post One? ?

Here a a few from this morning, from the East Peak of Mt Tamalpais in Marin County, California (Mt Diablo can be seen in the distance).

These were all shot in Standard Mode with zero retouching - just a bit of cropping.

A night test shot I took two days ago using my iPhone 13. Was really trying out low light capabilities rather than go out of my way to be artistic. It’s not a great photo, more of a low light demonstration of my iPhone 13.
