Satisfied with my manual “portrait” shots. I have to move the phone a little further away compared to prior iPhones, but it still does the depth of field blur great

Zero retouching - just a minor amount of cropping.
Of course! From someone who’s owned pro models in the past, I’m realizing the non pro models does all I need.A current Pixel user, I'm considering going back to iPhone. I originally was looking at the 13 Pro, but I'm weary of carrying a bigger phone. I've been intrigued by the 13 Mini, but was concerned about photo quality. This thread has definitely helped put the 13 Mini in the running for me! Thanks to all for your great pics and insights. Much appreciated!
Nice pic bro, what filter did you use in the photo? ThanksPhotos from iPhone 13 edited in lightroom. Should've shot in RAW but didn't know that i would want to edit them.

I tried those type of lenses on my iPhone 6 and since I didn’t like the result back then I will not give it a shot again with my 13 Mini.Hey, all, once the new phones came out I knew I was going to get one, but was going to wait until after the holidays. I knew I was either going to get the 13 mini or splurge on the 13 pro. Though there are several differences, the only one I was truly interested in was the telephoto lens. I shoot almost exclusively with my zoom lens on my DSLR. As someone else on the thread suggested, I was hoping to more often leave my DSLR behind when travelling. It's a lot to carry around, and I'm constantly worried about theft or breakage or loss on the road. So all along I figured I'd likely go with the pro. And, well, as I get older and as priorities change, I just don't feel like carrying around equipment much any more.
I would be more than happy with the photo quality of the 13, I just want the telephoto lens.
(I do not mean to suggest I'm a great photographer. I shoot in JPEG, use a kit lens on a prosumer camera, am happy enough using the editing tools available to me in Photos, and I don't go out all the time to practice shooting. I just appreciate the finer photos I can get from a "real" camera.)
But the more I consider it and read about it, the more I think I'm just going to get the regular 13. But I have a question for you all: have any of you used attachable telephoto lenses with your phones, like those from Moment or from Sandmarc? What have your experiences been?
Thanks, and great photos!
I notice you still got the Mini rather than the Pro. If you felt the output wasn't good with the lens then I understand not buying more...but with the mini you still must use an external to get a telephoto. Or do you not miss the telephoto?I tried those type of lenses on my iPhone 6 and since I didn’t like the result back then I will not give it a shot again with my 13 Mini.
