Ahh, thank you for clarifying that! My bad. I failed to elaborate further that with ProRAW we will be able to have more control with post-processing rather than having software processing it for us, which seems to be aggressive with noise reduction. I assume ProRAW is essentially RAW but with Apple’s “pro” moniker?
It's basically if you took the best qualities from the Apple image processing, and got the ability to adjust/tune some of the processing like a proper RAW file. Some of it you probably won't be able to change (e.g. I'm sure you won't be able to undo the image stacking it does for night mode). But the final product will have significantly more editability - so you might be able to push a dark photo's exposure up far more without making it a greyish mess like adjusting a non-RAW photo.

Can anyone on the 14.3 beta post comparison shots between normal and pro raw images? Curious if there's any difference.

Well, sort of, but it’s not simply a rebranding of raw. As @alee points out, that would be redundant as it’s been possible to shoot in raw on iPhones for some time.

The promise of ProRaw is a kind of ‘best of both worlds’ - you have the computational stuff that makes the cameras so useful in the first place, but be able to peel them back to give more flexibility to manipulate afterwards. Quite how well this works remains to be seen as we’re just experimenting with it in the 14.3 beta now.
