Haha it’s not unheard of…

My Mums birthday is end of September (2 days off my father in laws birthday), so we generally have an ‘Indian Summer’ party at ours with wholesome grub and a lot picked from the garden ;)

But that’s not happening this year as both sets of parents are away for my Mums 70th…

TBH a lot of what I grow is for over winter and Christmas too, root veg gets better with a good frost or 2, so I do like to leave a lot in the ground :)

You get a great benefit from organic vegetables and great taste plus so healthy … I miss those days when I visited my grandfather in Puerto Rico and he would go in the backyard and pick up a few things for dinner…. I have a friend here in New York. He does a good job of in his garden back of the house and I find it amazing because this is not the best area for gardening in the city. We get some tomatoes cucumbers and eggplant and fruit …figs and plums …

You can grow more or less anything in pots and containers... Its all about planning and keeping things well watered / fed etc.

I was brought up on market gardens and allotments here in the UK. It's in the blood and when we came to view our house in 2010, we offered to buy it there & then due to the size of the back garden, the greenhouse and the amount of huge potential...

Ideally I'd like to have half the garden as raised beds but I'm not allowed 😂 I may change my wife's mind as the more we can grow each year, the more money we don't have to spend and it's then the ultimate of fresh and organic as I don't use any chemicals at all. More so as we make our own compost too

I am in Italy (Rome/Tuscany) for the last 2 weeks and they are obsessed with produce freshness, trouble is everything is with pasta

Got back to Rome last night and had the worst yet best Chinese LOL
