It was very good. 3 more left. I'm fighting off a cold so i didn't get to have any more this weekend. :(

Well my companion for the past week has been what my doctor described on Friday as "a bit of bronchitis, a bit of a flu, and a bit of a temperature". So, yes, apart from a lovely Founder's KBS last night, and a single Backwood's Bastard the night before, I have had a very sober week. Antibiotics, sleep. medications, and so on, plus plenty of scalding hot tea.

One of my teacher friends made me some green tea. I felt better almost immediately.

Some of my beers from the weekend and Super Bowl Sunday:
The Death of Civilization in Slow Motion by Adroit Theory, a local brewery that I have come to love. They do some dynamite beers, and this DIPA doesnt disappoint

Next up was Marveloso by Commonwealth Brewing, a Virginia Beach brewery. Just getting familiar with their brews, but this imperial chocolate stout was amazing. I liked it very, very much...until...I tried Variant 2, which just completely blew me away. I was lucky enough to get the last two cans that my beer store had, and I wish I could find more. This stuff is black gold

Topped it all off with Ripe, by Peak Brewing. Another juicy DIPA that was quite pleasing to my taste buds. Death.jpg Marveloso1.jpg Marveloso.jpg Ripe.jpg

Green tea? That sounds horribly healthy.

I did - after much thought - sip, savour and swallow a single beer: Another from Founder's, this time the Breakfast Stout.

A crate of wonderful beer was delivered this morning: From Founder's, four of KBS, four of Breakfast Stout, and four of the fantastic "Yellow Belly" from Buxton.

But, I fear that I shall not be in a position to make inroads into this crate for some time yet. Not least because I am still somewhat under the weather.

The weekend just keeps getting better!! Stopped by Aslin Beer Company in Herndon, VA today and picked up a few 4-packs. Each time I've tried to go on a can release day, they have been PACKED with people in line. Today, with the rain, I was in and out in 5 minutes. The CAW put a smile on my face at first sip, and Orchid just sent me to heaven. I'll definitely be going back to Aslin to get some more of their stuff

6 hour drive up to Tree House Brewing in Massachusetts, 1.5 hour wait in line, and scored a case of Perfect Moment. It was an experience that I enjoyed and will definitely go back and do, probably not in the winter though (didnt expect that line). We left from there and tried to make it over to Lord Hobo, but didnt have time, so we just kept on our way to Salem, MA for the rest of the weekend. Stopped in at Total Wine in Danvers, MA, and since I had some gift cards from Christmas, I loaded up on a case each of Lord Hobo Boom Sauce, Glorious, and Consolation Prize. I'll definitely plan the next trip better, but this was an excellent trip, and the haul was well worth it

For me the glasses are the only thing I like in those posts.

IPA's and high gravity stuff are lost on me.

I do like some high gravity stuff though.

But I don't seek it out that often.

And what is up with cilantro? It tastes like soap to me!

I like IPAs and what you so eloquently describe as "high gravity" porters. And the glassware is divine.

I even like cilantro (coriander to us, this side of The Pond) but not in beer, thank you very much.
