what's anyone's take on BigShot SS/fixed bikes?

Probably very much like state bike co. .... Not worth it. They look nice but build wise I can't imagine them being any good.

perhaps look into spending a little more or build one yourself. Also be aware of duty fees.

In my case I was hoping to pay about 500$ for my bike and ended paying a whole lot more in duty fees, build fees, getting broken parts replaced.

It looks happy! The only change is I would have gone with a brown brooks
That's funny! I was pulling in to my driveway at the same time as my next door neighbor yesterday and she also said it looks happy. It's the perfect summer bike! It gets a ton of attention.

I'm ok with the black. It matches up with the tires, clips on the spoke covers, straps on the bag and bungee straps on the front rack, and compliments the chrome racks. It was also the saddle I got with the bike before I knew where the bike was going style wise. If I were to do it again I'd probably go for one of the brooks 'select' line as that leather matches up with the grips and the wicker panniers I also have. I have a Honey b67 on my green bike and I don't think a darker brown than what is on the select line would look right on this one. But for some reason black is ok.. Ah well. I'm happy.

If you're looking for a done SS/FG look at the Trek Earl I have one it's a bike, but it's a bike with a great warranty. It's my quick trip to the store, bar, and commute bike. I needed to get the Serotta out of that roll being that I can't afford to replace it.

I'll get some pictures up next week.

I like the shiny for that bike but she's going to do a handful of those chainguards, some fender sets, a full bike and start an etsy shop. :)

When so does I'l like to send her one of my fender sets. You can't get them in the states or I'd just order a set. I'd love to see her work some magic on some fenders!

Some photos of my 2001 Trek 7700 that I've had since 2002..

That day and ride was particularly hot. We cycled 130+ km through the middle of the day. I've never enjoyed swimming at the beach as much as I did at the half way mark.

The bike has clocked almost 47,000km, and served me very well indeed.

My 2011 Giant Boulder. It's on the cheaper end (I'm a college student that spends all my extra money on technology :/) but I got into mtb when I got to school and decided that I needed a better bike than the old Costco one I brought up (the frame was way too small).

I ended up buying this on Craigslist for ~$70 in pretty bad shape. I finally got it all fixed up and put together, and it rides pretty well! I haven't found a solution to the Boulder's notoriously crappy handling, but I might look into that in the next few months. The only part that's worse than stock at this stage are the rims, the originals were destroyed and I used my old Costco ones instead of getting new ones.

In all, I rescued a bike and got a decent ride on the cheap! And, I learned tons about bike maintenance in the process!

Was out riding yesterday, had only been gone 10 minutes when I got a puncture. Didn't have anything with me to fix it with, so had to carry it home.

Took me forever, the damn steel frame is so heavy :p
Might invest in a lighter bike in a few years.

Easy solution. Small hand pump, patch kit, and a spare tube and you won't be carrying your bike home again. Don't leave home without em anymore.
