Upgraded from a Kalkhoff to a Riese Müller Cruiser. ❤️
They're a great brand. I've recently upgraded from a Jamis Renegade S3 to a Riese & Müller Roadster. Not really an upgrade because they're very different bikes. I'm loving the move to an eBike and get so much more riding in now, especially with around the hilly area I live in.

I used to be totally against assists, but we just put an e-assist on our TerraTrike Rover Tandem. We don't have a whole lot of miles on it yet, but the assist really does change how you ride. My wife's disability means I may have to be the one dragging us home and that assist give me the confidence to go a lot further than I would have otherwise. I'm not as young and dumb as I used to be...

Related tangent.

Wonder how an 'average' local rider would stack up to the 'pros'?

I can pull low 20mph flats, but hills (mountains) eat me alive. Most calories I've expended on a ride: 1,700. Yikes. My worst year, I did flat 5 times. Ouch. A chain lasts 2 to 3 years. Frugal? Watts at threshold: 212/245. I can't even dream of a pro spot. :D:cool:

Ride on!!

Before my accident I used to ride with some local pros. And also some from overseas.

If they weren’t going flat out I could ride with them - if they push they just disappear. But the real difference is the descending, absolutely crazy fast how one of those guys went down Col du Glandon, just tucking straight down onto the top tube and gone.

It was great to ride with some of them because they are such excellent riders and you feel really safe in a bunch with them. They don’t weave about, they can hold a line nicely etc.

Hitting the famous climbs. ;) Nice route but very, very hot that day (41ºC).

New cranks on the bike, Shimano Dura Ace 11 speed FC-09, these are the replacement ones as a result of the Hollowtech recall process. They look like 12 speed 9200 cranks but with particular special chain-rings.

And only a short while after that, the rear wheel hub failed. So it is getting serviced or replaced.
