The new Mini has a five star Euro NCAP safety rating. I'm surprised that Americans still think along the lines of "it's small, so it must be unsafe".

I personally don't think it's a small car. It's at the VERY high end of the supermini market and I'd be inclined to categorise it with medium sized cars like the VW Golf and Ford Focus.

Right on!
the mini cooper shots look awesome. what camera did you use?

Canon 40D with a 100mm lens for the last shot, 12mm for the middle interior shot and 50mm for the front shot :)

Anyway, nothing can touch the ZR1 it's the fastest production car in the world.

Erm, according to who? I know it's the fastest around the 'ring, but does that make it the "fastest production car"? I thought the SSC Aero was?

Well many consider the 'Ring one of the best ways judge a cars performance. And I consider anything that tops that list the fastest car in production. I'm sure the Aero can and will break the top speed record though, but i'm not sure it's ever been around the ring.

I didn't mean to sound like a dick about it :p I actually don't know if the Aero went round the 'ring or not...

All I know it, I want to go round the 'ring!

Track day on Sunday
Peugeot 205 1.9 Gti running with Jenvey Throttle bodies, DTA mappable ECU and full Michelin slicks.

Not that much power at around 167bhp, but weighs in at less than 850kg (1870lbs)
Keeps with much more powerful stuff on the track as it's not about straight line speed but corners where we can catch a surprising amount of higher powered stuff. Obviously slicks could be considered cheating, plus full race pads etc !!

Oh really? It'll "only" do 205mph so it's no where near the fastest in a straight line and it's reported Nürburgring time is 7:24.4 which is nowhere close to the Radical SR8 time of 6:55. And yes, the Radical is a standard production car.

There's more to the word fast then going in a straight line.

The Radical SR8 is not listed a street car, Apparently it was at one point but now it's listed as a non street legal car.

To end all debate, the ZR1 is currently the fastest "production" vehicle around the "ring" at 7:26.4. I personally can't wait for Clarkson to get a hold of one, if it ends up being as good as testing has shown.

The ZR1 is a fast car but you have to realize its going against a "stock" GT-R. When Nissan unveils the GT-R V-Spec model, I'm sure the ZR1 will no longer be the fastest production car in the world.

GT-R compares against the Z06 as the V-Spec model will compare against the ZR-1. :)

That may be true, but for the sake of calming a few members down, the ZR1 is currently the top of the board, but the V-Spec in testing has proven to be very fast.

check out the production vs. non road legal times

To go on record I never said this, he did, I said Ford has NOTHING for it. :)

The last picture is of part of my audio setup. Its an 02 yukon, and yes, i know the fog lamp is crooked(just put new hella ones on) and the whole car seems to be leaning to the drivers side. I think it is a blown shock, or rusted strut.

+1 for photobucket re0sizing my images at will. Is anyone else having trouble with them?

I bet he's just jealous he can't pull a boat with his smart car...

None the less. There's nothing wrong with a smart car. If I could afford to drive two cars. I would have a small 4 door sedan and a truck. But I can't afford both and drive a 1997 Acura TL 3.2L. That to this day I wish I had a truck...
