By the time you're able to afford that Mustang hopefully the oil price will be so high that you Americans are finally thinking about buying reasonable cars instead of nonsense like this. I'll take 0-60 in 11 seconds any day if I'm getting 50mpg along with it. Have fun at the petrol station!

I have plenty of fun! Mustangs are also quite affordable. Reasonable to one person is different to another, man.

My schedule has been so busy lately I haven't had time to get any good pictures of it yet. I'll repost when I do!

unclesmurf you passed up on a lot of great cars to get the mazda.

That may be so, but my insurance, gas costs, and general practicality are more important currently. Besides.. if I got a mustang I would be too tempted to mod it like my old one and thats hundreds to thousands of dollars wasted that I could spend on my work equipment (personal trainer, athlete). Granted, knowing me, im likely to pay this things off quick and get something else within a couple years.

Besides... the long term cost of the BMW would not be worth it ( I used to work for BMW), the lancer has some great features but I hated the ricer looking wing, just so friggin ugly. I really wanted the Mustang but I did not want to stretch the long term costs and especially the insurance.

Rich teenager? Mustangs are not Bentleys. I see tons of teenagers driving around here with the new Mustangs. They're fantastic first cars at a fantastic price.

It's an affordable teenager's sports car, it always has been. Why do you think the Mustang has survived for so long? Did the Mustang go away for years like the Camaro and Charger and Challenger? No. Why? It's affordable. I had multiple friends who had new Mustangs when they were 16/17. It has nothing to do with being rich.

Congrats on the Pony, MicBook.

Got the Rancho quicklift installed with the new Rancho shocks installed, and a set of BFG ATs

QuickTrip kindly fed my baby fuel with half water in it, shut down my fuel system and ruined my fuel sensors. $1,000 of repairs. I'm going to make them pay that bill.

wheels524, that's a really awesome computer setup in there. You should put some smoke machines by the door so when the ramp goes down the smoke kicks up and all witnesses to the scene will hear the Darth Vader theme playing as you descend.

How are the V6 models on gas? I heard their fuel consumption was near the V8 models fuel consumption numbers.

I get about 22mpg in a mix of driving, but can get up to 30mpg on the highway if i stay at 60-65mph.. 35-40mpg if I stay behind a tractor trailer ;)

But the rated mileage is only a couple mpg better than the V8.

he raced an mustang gt which appeared to be super/turbo charged and still won easy

The Challenger is great looking car, but it's a pig, weighs in at over 4100lbs! 425HP and still a mid 13 second car at best.

LOL no offense, but I smell delusion! :D

According to ebay, they're upwards of $20k new, & the insurance company I'm with wouldn't insure a teenager with one as they won't insure anyone under 25 with anything 2 doors & more than 2000cc, giving it a score of zero for both affordability & insurability IMO.

My first car (2 yrs ago when I was 15) was an '89 Civic, my current & 3rd car is a '99 Toyota Corolla (I'll try to get some pics).

God damn I agree totally. I don't know how you can afford $20,000 USD for your first car, plus a big ass V8? Crazy.

My first (and current) is a 00 Hyundai Accent, I thought I was damn lucky to have that as a first one! Cost me $5,500 AUD...

I wont show any pictures of it because its just an Accent, but I am saving for a 02 Mini Cooper S.

Do your parents buy your cars or something? Geeze I feel I'm lucky enough to drive, or even sit in, my parents cars... (Lexus IS250, BMW X5, HSV R8 and Dodge Phoenix '72)

PS, Damn nice Lotus there, one of my dream cars!

That Mustang looks like the V-6 model. Yes, we Americans can sometime go for the looks and fuel saving models and still look bad ass, Neiltc13. But I am 17 and I know Geico would insure me, if I am willing to pay. My 97 Acura TL 3.2L costs me $108 a month, very cheap for my age. I am sure the price would be out of most teenagers price rage, after payments and insurance for the Mustang (Unless daddy payed for it). Also Full Coverage cost allot more.... I just have basic....
