It isn't a positive thing that it came from the Camry. When the new Camry came out back in 2007, the transmission refused to shift into 2nd and 6th gear. Though they did recall it and hopefully fixed the issue by now. Just don't go assuming things even with the perception of the Camry and Accord.
It still makes me wonder though why Ford didn't use the 6 speed auto they and GM developed together. I love it in my Aura. Probably contract reasons, but I expect them to switch it to theirs with the Fusion's refresh in 2010(MY) I believe it is.
Yeah, don't you just love the US
I think everyone in this country needs to drive a manual, at least once, to know what it's like. I just love the people who are tailing me and nearly end up in my backseat when I've got the slight pause in acceleration from 1st to 2nd. Especially when they honk and flip me off because they think I'm just taking my foot off the gas for no reason.
2006 Honda Civic 1.8 iVtec Sport. Best car I've ever owned
Sorry for the blurry image but here's the inside of my car.

My OTHER car.
This is my classic 1967 Cadillac Sedan DeVille Hardtop!
Nice car, but I could never imagine driving a manual with my left hand!
It's not difficult to switch
I've driven a manual every time I've had a car in Americashire and Continental Europeland.
I think it would be awkward at first, but I'd get used to it.
If I knew I were going over to the UK and renting a manual transmission car, I think I'd just get in my car's passenger seat and start going through all the gears while parked to see if I could really do it
How would you push the clutch pedal from the passenger seat?
With the car off, you can shift through the gears without pushing the clutch in.

so is like first gear still at the left of the gearbox? or is it the gear closet to you in cars where you sit on right side, which would be very weird by the way lol

Is that an '07 or '08? I just bought a 2006 Mazda 3 hatchback in pearl white a few months ago and I love the car.

I'm very left handed, and have no problem with the gear shift on either side of meI'm very right handed and i can change gears fine with my left hand, if u think, your strongest hand (right) is stearing while left is just changing gears. I guess it's just what your used to.
Automatics = yuk. Most of the autos I've driven have had terrible steering feedback too, so you don't feel the road. It's most disconcerting.I had a Auto hire car once and though it's nice not doing anything you feel like you don't really have control of the car it's weird.
