...it is in worse shape than this one and is more of an ongoing project
LOL, it wouldn't be a real DSM if it WASN'T an ongoing project. HAHA!

I've had my Talon since new ('97 TSi AWD), and it still has things that could be fixed or improved. That is the problem with cars like that. When the aftermarket is that large, you always find something that could be made better. I've told myself on MANY occasions that my car is done and nothing else needs work. Yea, not so much. Oh well, that's what makes them fun.

DSM = Driver Slash Mechanic

I bought my 96 GST in '03 and just sold it this spring. It was a sad day let me tell you. One of these days I will buy a 99 GSX "project car" and get back into the dsm scene.

Mine's no sports car, but I like it.

It's more or less a budget compact with some suspension upgrades that make it fun to drive.

Daily Scheduled Maintenance is another of my favorites.
It's sad, and hilarious at the same time, how we can keep coming up with these, and yet no DSM owner will ever dispute them. The cars are super fun, when they work, which isn't very often when you get down to it.

I love my Talon, but I am SUPER happy that it isn't my DD any more. There is nothing worse than thinking you have the car back working, only to have it ALWAYS break when you least need it to. The amount of beer I had to buy my buddies for coming to pick me up when stranded was staggering. :D

Haha I know exactly what you mean.. A lot of my friends and family think I am crazy..
My first 2G was great.. But then the strut towers started to rot out and then the transfer case locked up on the highway (going about 100kph).
Normally this is where lots of people quit.. Instead I drove to Chicago (from ontario canada) to pick up a shell and swap my motor into it.
I never even got the thing legally on the road, just temp permit and then the engine blows at the track!

Again, this is where people quit if they didn't the first time... I buy a 'new' engine of a buddy that will be swapped in around spring... And of course I would build the blown engine into some thing great (thinking 2.3L Stroker)

I actually had(have) a honda civic as a DD, but it was not fun at all.. So I went hunting, and found me this talon.. Probably the worst choice as a daily driver ever but that's ok.. I have enough spare parts and the time/place to work on it so I should be good for a while

I used to be OBSESSED with that. It was my dream first car. Since then, I can't imagine owning a car without 4 doors for my first car. It'd make traveling to and from home a lot harder haha.

I thought the 370z was really ugly when it first came out, but it has really grown on me.

Same here. I didn't necessarily think it was ugly, but I wasn't satisfied with the design at all, but after seeing it a while and actually getting to see one in person, I have came to the conclusion that they are one of my favorite sports cars. VERY affordable for what you get, too. I'd love to have one in that badass blue color. (not sure of the exact name of it)

Boy is that true! :D

I just hydrolocked my car last weekend.....

I litterally killed my Escort :D drove it in and out of a ditch, blew a head gasket, timing belts been replaced about 3 times, and i finally crapped out and died about 2-3 months ago. Got a 98 Honda Accord now and its awesome :D

is that a scion TC?

gorgeous car, shame they dont import them in england :(

Yeah, thats a TC. Nice car, considering Scion is owned by Toyota :p

yeah they should bring them to england, i vaguely remember them being touted at the young man or woman fresh into work from university or some such lol
