Can someone specifically point out these differences to me? I can't see anything different, aside from the chrome door handles, roof racks, and different wheels (trim stuff, as Puma says). I'm sure I'm just not seeing something simple.

SevenInchScrew,I completely understand where you are coming from. I consider myself a car guy and I could barely tell the differences. It look me too much googling and comparing the models on the Dodge website than it should have.

Things you cannot see:
New engine 3.6 liter V6 with 283HP vs 3.5 liter V6 with 235HP
1MPG better on the highway? On the 2011 page it says 26mpg however on the detailed specs it still says 25 which is the same as 2010
The interior had an upgrade
The gauges are different on the inside
The center console is different on the inside

Things that are barely noticeable that I'm looking back and forth on the Dodge website multiple times:
New optional 19 inch rims
The badge "journey" on the grill
The 2010 model has horizontal lines on the grill, the 2011 model has more of a honeycomb design
The taillights are different. 2010 has just a normal bulb where the 2011 has LED tail lights
Bolder fog light housings

:)

...it clearly has the OLD (2007?-2010) grille. This is obvious by the fact that the crosshair grille is ALL chrome, and not chrome with black inserts....You can also clearly see in the posted photo that the grille has horizontal slats.
Yes, clearly. How could I miss all those intricate details in a side-shot where you can hardly see the grille? [/sarcasm]

Yea, now that it has been pointed out, I can see it. I guess I just don't study the grilles and interiors of minivans closely enough. :p

Well, moving on....

By "clearly" I meant that there wasn't really any question on those details (ie if the grille were obscured) if you know what you're looking for. I didn't mean that it was glaringly obvious to just anybody looking for differences. Sorry.

But yes, moving on...

I've shown my car here before, but I don't think I've shown any of these except the bottom two:

Oh, and @rmitchell248, awesome S4!!
As a second car I'm really considering the new 2011 Audi S5... stunning car, and the specs say that it will drop 0-60 in 4.9 seconds, stock :)

Thank You the s4 is a good car I was considering the rs5 but it was not available for delivery quick enough and I needed something Right away.

I drove Both the 2011 s5 and s4 and obviously ended up with the S4 it actually is quicker. It has much more torque with the supercharged motor and that makes it much more responsive. You can really feel it. I would call them both quick but not fast. But very good cars to get around in I will drive 200kmh plus for hours and it's very stable.

Both are amazing cars haha.
For some reason, I've always heard that the RS5 is a pointless car, and that if you were to get an RS, it would be the RS4...

And yes, definitely both 'quick' cars, but not sports car 'fast' by any means.
Its kinda the same with my G37S... its pretty quick and has good tourque, but its not "fast"

But, this would be a 2nd car for me, and I would be getting it in college. And I just feel like the 'sexyness' appeal of the S5 wins over the S4... its just that coupe look. Plus, fractions of seconds of speed won't really matter as I probably won't be able to drive super fast anyways...

I like Audis and the RS5 is a nice looking car, but for what it costs I'd much rather be in a E92 M3 Coupe.

yes that was on my list too as it is actually cheaper than the rs5 yet slightly more than the s4 here but the problem is that it will be useless in the winter which we have been on winter tires for 5 months. The quattro is very handy and is the only reason I did not get the m3 which is a wonderful car. I drove both the gear boxes in the m3 and while the auto is very fast its just not right without the manual box.

I had the E46 M3 Coupe with the SMGII transmission. I loved the gearbox. It was wicked fast on track and I could do downshifts on it that no one with manuals could pull off smoothly enough. The new DCT is even faster and smoother than the SMGII was. I can handle a manual shift all day and have no problem with heel-toe technique, but for performance a double-clutch gearbox just can't be beat.

As for the winter issue, we only have light to moderate snow. When I had my M3 I just maintained a set of 18" wheels with snow tires for winter and 19" with ultra performance tires for track and summer use.

My next car will either be a Cayman S or the 1-Series M Coupe. Will decide later if I get it with single or double clutch transmission.

I agree like I said the dct is very fast but to me my left foot was bored and I just did not feel as connected with the car. around here autos are starting to pop up but still rare and I could do without them its just more fun

A drive down to the Nürburgring should get you reconnected in no time. :D

IMO I'd rather be in the Audi if it was a DD, as the interior of BMWs bore me, especially for the price point of the car. However if I was to track it like you (which I would most likely do as well) then the M3 would be my choice as well.

I'm partial to BMW. Although I drive a MINI JCW now, that's just a diversion. What I really loved about the M3 is the seats. The M6 seats are even better, as are the 135i. Never been so comfortable and supported while driving, and I take some pretty long road trips (e.g. 1100 miles one way to Sebring in two weeks).

I care less about whether the interior bores me or not (although my M3 had Cinnamon leather and brushed alum. trim) than ergonomics and performance.

I really should put the cargo net back in. :D But it's funny to take a fast turn and hear everything banging around in the trunk!

Also: Notice the glorious lack of gooseneck hinges! WOOT!

This thread has gotten awfully boring.

Same $50k cars over and over..

Sorry that we have let you down puma. Maybe we should all go buy better cars to keep you entertained! What else are you driving? Let's see it. That thing you posted up above doesnt interest me much but I felt no need to point that out...

Remember if some one is subscribed to a thread they get and email with your post in it. So if you say something stupid then delete it we all still get to read it. Kinda like when your mom said to think before you talk.....

Maybe we can just post pictures other than the same ole 'car with its front wheels turned' pic ;)

I suggest trunk pictures XD Better! Stick your mac in the car and post it in the setup thread. :D

I plan on putting in an in-dash nav, painting the rims gunmetal grey, putting in 1200k HIDs, and hopefully an Apple TV to stream my iPhone to on trips.

Here is my S4

Niiiccce. My best friend just got a brand new one a couple of weeks ago. I will say that the re-flash I just did to it made an enormous difference. Not that it was slow to begin with but wow did it ever wake up the potential of that car. Going to dyno it today to see just how much.

Actually it was more aimed at the teenage kids throwing mom and dad's money around, talking oh-so-casually about picking up S4s, M3s, etc. as "second cars" on their parents' dime.

It's pretty pretentious to make sure your age is known as a rich kid by stating how you'll have to wait til college to get handed another $50k meal ticket because the $40k meal ticket doesn't cut it. Or really, it's just the parents competing with each other having a big dick contest in the neighborhood. Rubs me the wrong way.

But this thread lacks serious variety. It's the same cars over and over, Audi this, M3 that, 135i this, M3 that, G35 this, etc. Every new page inevitably has a $50k car at the top. It's just the same new cars over and over, I don't even have to open the thread to know what's going to be posted. Nice cars no doubt, but it's just a little dry. How many pictures of a new car X can you look at? There's nothing there to appreciate, no substance--just another new car. At least with mine, it's something you sure don't see everyday.

Watching kid after kid ride in here on silver platters gets old after awhile, especially because so often they feel the need to point out themselves how old they are, or that it's their first car without anyone even having to look at their profile to find out they got it interest-free from the Trust of Mom & Dad.

As someone who's self made and has worked my ass off to get to where I am today with zero help whatsoever in any form from anyone, it gets on my nerves to see kids coming in here flashing their $30k, $40k, $50k+ cars handed to them. Jealous? Sure. Then again, Mac is a yuppie brand so it goes with the territory. That's all.
