I didnt drop 19k on this car, im using the interest off savings to pay for it. You do know tou can buy a new A1 for 13k?

Price up a Mito or a Polo to a similar spec and you will see there is not much difference on price (Hundreds)

Check PCP deals on similar cars... The A1 will be very close or even cheaper on PCP due to high resale value.

Damn theres some hate, i knew i shouldnt have posted it on here.

I don't think he was hating on you at all, dude...

I thought the car looked quite nice, and I'm kind of bummed we don't get it here in the US. If you like it, that is all that matters. You don't have to justify that to anyone. Sorry you felt attacked. :(

I know I have been critical of other member's purchases in the past, so I claim no innocence here, but I really wish people would just be a little more kind with their responses to other members (comments, votes, etc). We all enjoy different things, and our varying purchases reflect that. There is no need to go downvoting things and making people feel bad.

I'm being entirely objective here. Nothing I'm saying is a personal attack on anyone and of course people should be free to buy whatever cars they want. However, I thought the whole point of posting your car here was to see what other people thought of it?

Here's my pride and joy.

56882d50-6d8c-f14d.jpg

A 2002 Vauxhall Astra 888. 2ltr turbo running 202bhp.

For all the Americans on here..... It's been built as a limited edition special, specifically number 51 of 100 EVER built. Extremely rare. Rarer than a Bugatti Veyron!!!

Thanks :)

You won't love them so much when you know about Renault's reliability. My Megane meant pop after 13k miles and 24 months.

This can actually happen to any car out there. Unless of course we're talking of a quarter million dollar Rolls Royce. I mean, even the Ferrari 458 had it's lot of issues...

Well since I am an Apple and Car geek, I feel this is a very good introductory thread :D

Apologies for the poor iPhone quality.

It is a wonderful car, however, it looks like it will be away fairly shortly as I need to purchase a Diesel due to a recent job change. Will be extremely sad when I have to part with in :(

I think they make these with diesel power as well?

You have the 1.6TDI 105, 2.0TDI 140 and 2.0TDI 170. On some of the first MK6s you can get a 2.0TDI 110, however, this was replaced by the 1.6 105 :)

I have been considering a MK6 GTD (Diesel version of the GTI) which has the 170 diesel engine :)
