I bet a huge part of it is because stuff in the USA is so darn cheap. $30k for a convertible Camaro? I'll take 3!

The Camaro base model is around $22,000 USD, That's £13,989 at today's exchange rate. Based on prices Top Gear quotes for cars in the UK, it sounds like a steal.

Exactly... I mean, they only sell the high end SS V8 here, but that goes for $120,000 (£76,382).

I could almost buy... A Maserati Cabrio in the US for that price? I find it funny though. Even if it goes for $22,000, it is still a very nice car.

Mlf! (my little little ford)

v6 4wd standard its a monster in the snow ( i now live in colorado )

Wow... I thought my local dealer was expensive... About a month ago I looked at a 2011 Special Edition SS Convertible with a 6spd manual. Brand new it was just over $48,000 USD, sticker price.

In the US, $120,000 will get you:
Audi R8
Aston V8 Vantage (almost, they're around $123,000. But what's another $3,000?)
BMW M6
2 BMW M3s, in case you can't decide on 2 colors and want them both
Nissan GTR, with almost enough left over for a 370z as a daily driver for those times when 545hp is just too much and you want to tone it down to a more modest 332hp

Jesus... Living in this country really makes me sad.

Care to post any data backing up that claim?

I take PM's of my vehicle very seriously. Just yesterday my left-front brake caliper was sticking. I parked it and replaced both front calipers this morning.

My truck has over 162K miles on it and I've never had a breakdown.

If you waited to do it until your caliper was sticking, then it wasn't preventative maintenance (by definition). It was a repair.

Here's my maintenance schedule:

I've had the car since new, and followed everything I wrote there. Haven't had any issues yet (at 126,000 miles now).

try living in Asia, eg, Hong Kong or Singapore where $120 000 can only buy you a toyota corolla. Ferrari's and Lambo's costing up to 1.5m. Astons for 800k

I am not quite sure why some people feel the need to keep reposting their car every week...

Meanwhile, I am looking out for the first pics of a BRZ,GT-86,FR-S. Go on sale already lol

Meh...As an STi owner the BRZ just doesn't excite me just yet. Now an AWD STi version could make things different.

Me either in terms of performance. However, it is Totota's first venture into a small sports car since cutting the MR-2 and Celica in the early 00's. That is exciting to me:)

I think give it 5 years and there will be a turbo'd version and possibly AWD at least on the Subie end!

My new 2010 Acura TL with Tech package. Just bought it a couple weeks ago, it only had 12.5k miles on it!

You know there'll be a big aftermarket scene for it too, so whilst it won't come with a turbo, it'll be possible to get a kit.

I love that they are making it RWD, hopefully it'll be affordable. At least it isn't as ghastly as the rest of the Scion lineup.

Also the tC from 2006 looks nice, the angular ones since then haven't been particularly easy on the eye.

I have to admit. I didn't believe you. I thought you were exaggerating on the price of a Corolla. People like to exaggerate on the internet. But one quick look on Toyota's Singapore website and a currency converter, and holy ****, you aren't kidding.

$120,000 for a Corolla is at least $100,000 more than what they sell for in the US.

I'm just leaving final judgement until they hit the streets. But it hasn't excited me beforehand. The BMW Z4 M Coupe excited me (I know, it was twice as much).

Surely 120k over there is not the same as 120k here?!!!

If so, wow
