Beautiful 928, one of my all time favourites but heard they can be a money pit as a classic car purchase - yours looks very well sorted though - Nice.

Thank you wobegong,

I love the 928

Beautiful interior
and it's a V8 !!

Beautiful ST. Absolutely love those and am jealous of those HIDs. The hooded text essentially are the exact thoughts I have regarding my Fusion Titanium (few posts up). I had an Acura TL before and was pretty set on a 2013-14 Accord Touring. Until I drove the Fusion. It drives incredibly well. Blows the competition out of the water, truly. I too am weary of reliability, but it's a lease so not my problem after three years if there are problems. I doubt there will be though, same with your ST.

----------

Thanks for the compliments, the Fusion is also a great car, and I'm envious of that front end, but what sold me on my Focus is the noise the car makes under heavy acceleration, it's really like no other. I really wanted the manual too, and for some reason I'm just partial to hatchbacks.
I've also had a TL, and my last car was a Scion tC, which was also very fun, but the ST really seems to make driving to even the grocery store a blast. My father purchased a 2014 Accord V6 coupe with the 6spd transmission the day before I purchased my Focus. We switched cars over the weekend, and while the engine on that car performs (and sounds) flawless, my ST ultimately just feels more "fun". For a while I looked into the Fusion plug in, but that CVT just wasn't doing it for me. I drive an '08 Escape hybrid as a company vehicle, and while the CVT is great for around town (I average 29mpg) on the highway it's not ideal. If I recall correctly the Fusion Titanium has a standard automatic or 6spd available and not the ford CVT?

The Panamera is great, but the lack of manual transmission really knocked it off the list for me. Yes, the dual clutch is great and can shift faster than I can by far, but there's just something about driving a standard I really didn't want to give up. Plus, I could only afford the regular model and not the S, driving the regular model didn't really feel like it added too much on top of this.

I had this ordered, white, with the dark wheels and red calipers, new for 2014. It's a 2014 Focus ST, ST3 trim package, with full leather heated Recaros.

I didn't know Porsche Panamera and Ford Focus were in the same car buying category.

You know, I too really became attached to my '13 Yaris because of the fun factor. I must of test drove 20+ vehicles before choosing one. I liked the style of the Ford Focus but they don't have the ST in automatic. It would be too hard for me to go back to stick after 8 years without.
I also wanted a hatch though for sure.

I found that I like my cars tiny and light frame. Many call it "Squirrelly" but I enjoy it immensely. It's only a two door and it weighs just a tiny bit over 2,200 lbs. It's a 4 cylinder but where I live, it's all I need. It's got an older VVT-I engine that's been part of their dependable power train for years. The difference in torque and horsepower are so miniscule (3), the car really gives great response times. I get around 38 miles in city and up to 45 highway. With the way I drive, that's an impressive feat.

I'm fond of Toyota because of the fact that they like to use slightly older but thoroughly tested parts. After all the hassles I'd been through with direct injection engines burning out pistons (Even with premium fuel). I'd had enough. Two KIA's, a Mazda, and Nissan later... and I think I'm finally good.

Doesn't the CVT have that so called "Hybrid mode" manual? It stimulates a full stick shift I think? I don't know if it's got just the conventional (X)spd like a normal manual.

Do they have to be?
No, but when you're in the market for a $80k+ vehicle you would think there's better options than the Focus ST. Granted don't take this the wrong way as I think the ST is a very nice car by itself, it's just 2 very different types of performance/class and a move into a very different direction.

If you are in the market for an $80k+ vehicle, the Focus ST usually isn't in the running.

I only have 1 picture of my car and it's too dirty to take pics right now.

Anyway, it's a 2013 Volkswagen Turbo GLI Autobahn edition with LED DRL and Bi-Xenon headlights as well as Navigation. Color is midnight black. I've been meaning to put a tint on the windows but I've been lagging - I got it in Feb 2013.

True, but I really admire the ability of the OP to make that decision. Lately I've been considering a 'downgrade' due to the major reduction in driving I do now vs when I bought my S4 a little over a year ago. I've considered something either more fuel efficient (TDI, etc) or less expensive but not much performance lost (Golf R was on the list) and always find flaws in the other options that can't let me pull the trigger.

Looking back two of my favorite cars I've owned were two of the least expensive and even still I'm pretty sure by the time I make my next purchase I'll be spending even more than I did on this one. Wish the right fit would come along for me to make a more wallet friendly choice.

And congrats on the ST! Someone in my aparea has a similar work commute and I've followed them a few times on the way. Very cool car.

It's about time!!! What all is done to the white one? Looks similar to mine. :D

Still stock because all challengers have been shot down so far. Mostly ricers and a few domestics. lol No need for anymore power at this time. However, I am planning on putting a Roush axle-back for a better sound. If I run into anyone that is faster, I'll do some bolt ons and a tune.

btw... the 2015's have lost it's Muscle/Pony car appeal, IMO. Looks like Ford is trying to infiltrate the Euro market with it's new design.

Totally agree with you on the '15. Majorly dislike everything about it.

I am with you on the mods, just did an axle back and an x pipe and called it good. Plenty of power bone stock.

I know, it's a strange choice when I had a lot of interesting vehicles to choose from, but in the end, that reason itself is actually why it was in the running for me.
I do a lot of driving for work, and I didn't want to make the wrong first impressions. I've seen people treated differently just because one pulls up in a new 5 series. At the end of the day, while I believe you should own whatever makes you happy, I chose the Ford because I can park it in a lower income area of Denver and not be too worried, but at the same time I've also received a few compliments when I had it valet parked at a 5 star hotel.
While I'm not super well to-do, my car is one of the few things I believe I should spend a good decent amount on, just because I spend so much time in it. With my annual mileage racking in right around 28-32k a year, I just decided that for a car I will probably only have for 3-4 years because of mileage, a more expensive car probably wouldn't offer the best return on investment. I have two friends that bought new 911's in the mid-1980's, and still have them to this day with right around 280k miles on both, so while I still believe the car will last that long, it's just something I don't want to attempt.
With German cars, it seems the resale value really depreciates in the first few years. I really feel like I got a good car for my money with the Focus, and even if it's only worth a few thousand a few years from now when the time comes to replace it, I won't have any regrets. Additionally, since this is already paid for, I can look into buying a fun SUV for the weekends, like an FJ.
Also, in case anyone was wondering, this wasn't the only "cheap" car on the list. I also considered the Golf, and a 335D in the interest of saving money on fuel. The Golf was a serious contender and for the BMW I decided I wanted a manual gearbox. If they had made the 3 series diesel available in manual here in the US I probably would have decided to purchase that instead.

Just bought a new 2014 Honda Accord Sport. Not super fancy, but I like it a lot so far!

That's a great car, I'm actually really pissed Honda Europe is not bringing in any proper engines for it. We only get the two smallest engines. 2.0 Petrol and 2.2 diesel. They claim the 2.4 is coming, but so far nothing. That V6 sounds great tbh.

Btw, don't forget that even Jesus (I'm not talking about the mexican gardener :D) drove one of those "For I did not speak of my own accord"
