Picking this up on Tuesday. The wife has a 2019 Ford Edge and she loves it... this is it's little brother, the 2020 Ford Escape Titanium.

Nice car, which engine? I did not see a new x7 yet.
bought the 40i engine. 0-60 in 5.4 and gets 21-22 mpg consistently. its a big vehicle so didn't really need the m50i engine even though its considerably faster. its SO quiet inside and rides great with the air suspension. drives much smaller than it is

My Tesla Model 3, long range AWD. The car is great but the ownership experience has been abhorrent. Tesla is unresponsive to calls and emails and trying to get a hold of anything for service or support is close to impossible. I leased my Model 3 and have about two years left on it...as it stands now, Tesla has done nothing to keep my business. I'm planning on going back to something German come time to turn it in unless Tesla makes some drastic changes.

Okay, so it may not be super new or super cool, but here is why it is kinda cool, and perfect for me.

It's a dieselgate car, so it's diesel. Because of dieselgate, It has a super extended warranty on a large majority of the engine. Oh, it's diesel, so its cool... fun to drive too. It's a 2011, so that was the last year that didn't require any of that catalyst fluid, I think it was called urea.

It's a wagon, so that must make me a super cool dad. I can throw the Newf in the back and the kids in the backseat, girl riding shotgun and I'm off. Of course, it's lowered with sport springs, only an inch, with some well matched wheels.

It has the DSG transmission, which is simply awesome. I come from a standard-only background, so switching to an automatic was hard. However, this is not like an automatic, when comparing how the transmission is built, it is built like a standard. The clutches offer a very similar experience to standard clutch, without the foot pedal.

Black "leather" interior feels nice and looks great, very passable for real leather. I installed a proclip dash mount for my cell and that adds to the experience.

Personally, this car felt awkward to drive with the factory suspension. Lowering the car one inch with the factory shocks (which were new, btw) really helped bring out the german ride quality you would expect from a volkswagen, she has a heavy butt, so it was quite squishy in the rear with the factory springs and wheels.

At the end of the day, it's a family car. A fun family car.

This is how a BMW look's like after 24 years of use. My 1996 BMW 5 Series 523i (e39) survivor.
The trusty M54 6-inline engine works like a swiss watch. The exhaust system though is not original.
A great daily driver with some upgraded third-party LED Halo headlights (orange-delete-all-around) and some other perks.
The car stems from a time period, configured & designed for at least 300.000 km, where the term "Controlled-Product-Obsolescence" was unknown in Bavarian consciousness. Unfortunately, that time is gone for good.

Back in the days a had a drive with a 525d, same model as yours (E39). It is a very good car. A real BMW with rear wheel drive.

2020 Tesla Model 3 Performance. I've only had it a couple of months, but it has been a great experience so far.
That blue is amazing.... Still holding out for graphene battery in electric cars. I'd expect ranges around 1500-1600 miles between recharge. So close, but still about 5-10 years away, I imagine.
