Ohh so Ford do the Mondeo in America but its called a Contour. I have a Mondeo, but it was given to me and is in nowhere near as good condition of yours.

Over here they are seen as a Sales Rep kind of car, and although it is pretty nice to drive, really isnt seen as an interesting car...

The Contour (this one is the SVT version which is the sportier one) is similar to the Mondeo ST24 which is the sport model in Europe. The SVT and I assume the ST24 have leather interior, firmer suspension, intake manifold which has been extrude honed for more flow, more aggressive computer and camshafts. They are about 200HP from the factory and only available in a 5 speed manual. Fun little sedans :)

Ok seriously people,

Breaks: Separations in something
Brakes: The the things that stop your car

Get it right

;)

lilj4425, prove it :p Post a pic with your car with a piece of paper on the hood that says lilj4425. Not that I don't trust newbs, it's just that I just don't trust newbs.

that's too easy, he/she needs a to get a post-it note, write lilj4425 on it, stick it on the steering wheel, and get a picture of it with the tach reading at least 5000k

Uh, thats basically true. I'll tell you this - my '05 Jeep has gone through two MAJOR recalls involving life-critical problems (one was the breaks dieing prematurely). The 1984 Benz? None.

Recalls not problems right? Lets see.... Toyota had to recall Sequoia's and the last gen Tundra for possible steering failure. Toyota had to recall the new Tundra for breaking camshafts. BMW might have to recall the 335i's due to the engine overheating due to the lack of an extra oil cooler with the automatic transmission( which they have added one if you order it correctly) and fuel pumps failing early( BMW put in a new high pressure fuel pump made by Bosch which all Post-March production is supposed to have). There is also inadequate cooling at cylinder's 5 and 6. So that might be a time bomb waiting to happen. All automakers have recalled their vehicles for a major problem sometime or later. Even the Germans. Using a 23 year old vehicle to say Mercedes is reliable especially when they really were reliable( or at least more reliable then they are now) is stupid. It's like comparing the domestic's POS products back in the 80's and saying due to that the domestics latest offerings are still a POS. Mercedes lately has hit a major quality dip. But, you'll probably attribute that to Daimler owning Chrysler and now that they sold Chrysler, reliability will rise...... BTW, Jeeps especially the GC has a lot of Mercedes tech( like the diesel engine). In matter of fact all the Germans have. VW especially.

BTW, using recalls isn't a good way on saying if a vehicle is reliable or not. Also, having an affected vehicle from the recalls means your vehicle has the POTENTIAL of the problem occurring. Doesn't mean you will experience it.

I agree.

Every car has recalls, and I think they are a good thing. It's better them ignoring the problem.

I would be happy if one of my "breaks was dying prematurely". Does that mean something that is broken will fix itself quickly?

Lol...its the internet, if its one of those two, I'm fine!

Seems like a poor thing to lie about, its not like we're going to befriend him because he has a nice car.

(**Sends me to lilj4425 asking for money***

Very nice! Love the Boxer engine sound! How do you feel about the '08 WRX? Seems there's a lot of people out there that don't like the new bodystyle. Me, I actually really like 'em. Both the sedan and hatchback. Quite different than the previous generation, but they look great, IMO.

I like it. The ST220 one we get in the UK looks great. Rarer than a DB9;)
