So, a lot of people's Galaxy S10 preorders are starting to not have the "Cancel" button available anymore. Mine is still there. I swear it's telling me to cancel because a week in I'm liking this phone more and more. Dammit! I hate these decisions!

Honestly you can always return the galaxy s10. I say keep the order and pick the phone you like best out of the 2. Unless you're afraid you'll keep both ;)

That's the plan and I'll going to be very critical of the S10. I don't think I've ever gone from slightly underwhelmed to extremely happy about a phone like this one. Especially now that I've really put the camera to work.

But my hunch is that the S10 will blow me away.

Curious to hear your thoughts. I think I'd love the screen and hardware and would switch. Then, I'd miss the camera and the fast software updates and would come back. I keep telling myself that so I don't order one. :D

This is actually harder than my decision to switch from Apple. Lol. Though that decision had been brewing for years! I'll post my thoughts for sure.

If the Camera is important to you I think the Pixel is the better choice, even over the S10. Unless you need that super wide angle lens.

Yep. The Pixel 2 and 3 lines have a hardware image processor, something you'd find on an actual camera, plus software refinement. I got to play with a Pixel 3 XL this week and it was fantastic. I may end up getting a Pixel 4 when it becomes available and switch between phones. Plus, it would be nice to try out another Android OEM other than Samsung. My experience in that has been limited to HTC and Motorola, eons and eons ago, and I barely used them for more than a few hours.

I want to switch to the pixel line so bad but the hardware just isn't doing it for me. Give me Samsung hardware with the Google software please.

That's exactly it. As much as I love the camera and stock experience, the battery is underwhelming. I've even had some weird lag here and there that I never thought I'd have on stock Android. But damn. The camera. If the S10 + can even come close to the camera experience, then I'll stay with Samsung.

Pixel line reminds me too much of Samsung's lesser series. They're good phones, but the raw Android experience isn't that alluring.

By lesser series I mean they're big and flat, and heavier than they look.

I'm also interested to read your comparison once you get the S10. I'm trying very hard to resist pre ordering from Verizon. So far the rational side of me is prevailing and I haven't done it!

I keep telling myself Android Q first build(s) will probably come out in 3 months, if that, and I'll enjoy trying that more than using an S10...meanwhile I've seen my battery drop a percentage just from viewing this thread for 5 mins haha...battery on this phone is so hit or miss and a big thing that I don't like. I will be paying attention to real world battery life reviews on the S10+ for sure.

At the Missions in San Antonio for my niece's baptism. The camera is so good on the Pixel.

I enjoy watching movies and videos on a phone because it doesn't tax my migraine condition the way big screen TVs do. Movies and video look good on my Pixel 3XL and iPhones but already my S9+ is my best device for movie watching.

I'm so excited about what I'm reading about the S10+ display and how movies and shows from Amazon Prime will look on it. Amazon Prime is where most of my content comes from.

So that's something else I personally factor into my evaluation of the Samsung vs Google devices.

I will not be going down to one line unless something really changes for our financial circumstances.

Anyway I just need to decide if I want to keep on the Android vs iOS split between the two lines or let the battle be between Google and Samsung. I think I'll keep it iOS and Android and then see what Pixel 4 and iOS 13 bring to the table.

The wild card would be the Samsung Fold. I do see the value in a foldable device even in these early clunky stages. I'd dearly love to test it. It's so clunky and awkward it's almost too adorable to resist. Lol...women like me see things a bit funny! :p

Beautiful baby and beautiful setting for the baptism! Wow on both accounts. Those are excellent photos you took.

So I did some reading up on some of the performance issues that this phone suffers from and it sounds like the February patch slowed down the kernel to literally match performance of the Galaxy S6. Not sure why they didn't release any mid month updates to fix this.

I know the Feb update has been the worst for performance that I can recall. I'm hoping the update this week is better.

Should be the March security patch today. Hoping to see some performance improvements on this patch. I feel like I got a somewhat compromised first impression with this phone because of the lag and stutters, but after reading more it seems like the February patch really messed things up.

Otherwise I love this phone to the point where I continue to hover over that S10+ cancellation button, haha!

I don't have anything negative to say about my P3 XL except maybe battery life and display brightness outdoors. But maybe the March update will improve on battery life?

Agreed. I told my phone off the charger at 1pm yesterday. Granted, I had 3 hours of SOT but went to bed at 9 with 32%. Yikes!!!
