iPhone is acting more like a real camera. So in that respect they all did a good job. But the Pixel did the job we would want our front camera to do when our friends are supposed to be in the picture. I’m often frustrated at group selfies with people slightly behind the person holding the camera getting very blurry.
agree and all of them did a great job to be honest

This is where being a photographer is bad sometimes for me lol.

The iphone shot is the only one that looks correct to me. On the others, Only the background being blurry looks as fake to me as one of those bizarre backdrops people put in zoom meetings.

Don't get me wrong, the other two are doing brilliant computational photography, but the effect is not realistic to what a wide aperture would do in that situation on an slr or mirrorless.

I just wouldn't use portrait mode in that situation personally though. In the same way that I don't shoot engagement couples at 1.2f and expect them both to be in focus.

The scary thing is, that AI learning with the camera will only get better with this being a first gen for the Tensor chip. These camera could end up really amazing after some updates.

Pixel edges out the others on blurring the background without messing up the subject in front. For example, look at the hair.

An iPhone SE going up to a Pixel 6 Pro, wow LOL that'd be a massive difference.

Size and OS are so radically different.

I switched from a BlackBerry Passport to my SE back in 2017, so it was a big (or tiny!) change from this perspective.

As for the OS systems, I find both Android and iOS are easy to use and intuitive. No issues from my end.

I like what Google is doing with its phones, they offer a terrific bang for the buck and they still have fingerprint unlock - I'm not a fan of FaceID and this is pretty much a red line for me. I ride a motorcycle with a full-face helmet, so I need only to remove a glove to unlock the phone, plus we're still wearing masks due to COVID. There's only about a $200 CDN difference in price between the 6 Pro and the Mini and I feel you're getting more for your money with the Pixel 6 Pro. If I go with the Pixel 6, it's cheaper than the Mini.

I'm going to wait for the proper reviews to be published, posted and uploaded before I make any decisions. After all, my OG iPhone SE still works pretty well!

Could it be possible we might be getting our phones earlier than expected like on the 25th when embargo lifts? Tracked my package which is 0.55 pounds so too heavy for Pixel Buds only while the Pixel 6 Pro supposedly weighs 0.46 pounds and it wouldn't make sense they would hold on to the Buds which is an already released product until the 25th when it arrived at a nearby facility on the 20th.

I love Moment cases. I’m glad they made one for the Pixel. I checked their site but it wasn’t up at the time I looked.

Was looking at Moment case for MagSafe feature.
I am swapping 12 Pro for Pixel P6.
I have all magsafe devices like Apple battery pack, wallet, charger, Boost charge pro, Belkin car vent mount etc.
MagSafe feature case for pixel 6 will make the transfer less pain with all those devices.

Price point is high and intention of moment case is lens swapping.
Pixel pro 6 is literally a camera rather than phone and I couldn’t see the point of getting lens swapping except for anamorphic lens.

I rather wait for some brands to come out with magsafe feature for more options on case design/colour and better pricing.

I decided to preorder after seeing the price. I was originally going to wait until the iPhone 14 and Pixel 7 came out and decide between those two. I placed my order in the evening on launch day and attempting to secure one anywhere was quite an adventure at the time. Finally managed to snag a black 128GB 6 Pro on the Canadian Google Store with a ship date of 2-3 Nov. Was it as bad as my adventure in trying to get an Xbox Series X last year? Not quite, considering I actually managed to snag a day one unit. Did I enjoy the experience though? Not really. Will post impressions once I have the phone in my hands.

Morning all, it’s a clear but chilly day here in Blighty, eggs & bacon sizzling on the stove!

Decided immediately when I woke up (with a hangover!) that life is too short to wait for the Pixel embargo lift!

Now pre-ordered my Stormy Black 6 Pro on the Google UK store for delivery on the 28th Oct! Over this side of the pond, the Google UK deal with the Bose 700 headphones thrown in makes the Pixel’s exceptional value for money vs Apple. I’m going to dual with my 13 Pro Max initially.

If Pixel Pro 6 reviews are overall on the negative side on Monday it will just be returned but I’m very hopeful this year - really appears Google have finally released a full flagship Pixel.

The Cloudy White is an amazing colour too but I’ve been rocking the stainless steel look on my previous Apple Watch, time for a change back to black!

My only personal gripe with Cloudy White was I didn’t quite get the look of the gloss white colour band on the top & on the bottom antenna, although in a case this wouldn’t be an aesthetic issue.

Also I have pre-ordered the official Stormy Sky case but delivery on that is not till 23rd Nov which is extraordinary given the case is made out of recycled trash! So I’m now case hunting this weekend!

Bellroy have slim leather cases, actually designed in partnership with Google, which look impressive. Moment cases I will need to check out as I’ve never used one previously. Plus the usual suspects like Spigen, Caseology, Poetic etc. Ideally, I too also want a MagSafe but think we’ll be waiting a while for those cases to arrive.

In my case, I put up 12 Pro for sales and complete move over. I am having hard time with iPhone camera on brightness issue. Felt too bright and missing to capture details real life.

I really would like more cases come out with MagSafe feature as been too suck into Apple accessories. Quite like the colour of Bellroy sea mist case unfortunately only available for P6.
Current setting would be cloudy white with frost white case.

Sadly, airpod pro and watch would go to missus. I am still happy to continue on IPP and Apple TV.

Times are exciting to be in hybrid mode.
I am interested to know your thoughts on 120Hz interface comparison.

Yeah my husband and I have their lenses and a filter already so it’s worth it to me. Though now there’s a warning the lenses may cause vignette on the new Pixels. Which actually might be a cool effect to experiment with. But it’s still a bummer.

I don’t use the lenses all that often. I just like the grippy feel and light weight and occasionally they’ve had colors I couldn’t get on Apple silicone.

I usually catch them on sale. This time I got the 15% off promo the YT channel was running. They’ve compared well to Apple Silicone so to me the pricing being similar isn’t bad. I was planning on putting cases for my 13 Pro on my Christmas wish list, so I don’t have a Moment case for it yet. My last Moment case was for my 11 Pro and I loved it.

Also the built in lens mount has in the past helped protect the glass around the lenses and looks especially poised to do that here for the huge “glass bridge” the lenses are embedded in. I do know from experience that you’ll need to blow pocket lint off that accumulates there. But you’ll also likely deal less with finger print smudges clouding up your lens.

Their customer service has been very responsive and even proactive. They sent me a chance to pick a new case once because other customers had complained of a design flaw that frankly didn’t affect me if I wasn’t going to use my lenses much. I even got to pick a new color I didn’t already have.

Holy cats I just saw they’ve got a new fabric case for the S21 Ultra! I hope they make one for the Pixels.

Anyway…it’s definitely not cheap. When I get mine I’ll be sure to go over the pros and cons of it here just as a case. Like I said, I’m anticipating a possible battle with pocket lint accumulation in the lens mount part. We shall see.

Has anyone located a screen protector for the Pixel 6 Pro?

I was really hoping Whitestone Dome was going to do one. But it doesn’t look like it is happening.

Both Whitestone Dome and Speck have now abandoned me.

Mine still states shipping Oct 30 - Nov 2

Everything I read of people seeing both the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, is that the 6 Pro is just an overall better display, besides the obvious 120hz refresh rate, but the colors and inky OLED blacks everyone says the 6 Pro just has a higher quality screen. Gets brighter and more vivid colors and just nicer than the 6 screen.

I hate curved edge screens myself but for me, I really want the best display I can get on a Pixel,I don't want a mediocre 90hz display that the Pixel 4 and 5 have, I want the best tech a Pixel has; 120hz, deep blacks, high brightness, etc...
I still have my iPhone 12 Pro Max, and I am not a fan of iOS, but the screen and high quality display on the 12 PM is great, I want something like that on my new Pixel. So I ordered the 6 Pro.

Well mine isn't shipping, I have the great notice that it is expected 29-30 not 28-29 as originally stated.

Not a killer for me, but a bit bummed. I also didn't get an option for priority or expedite shipping from the Google store.

I talked to support about getting Pixel Buds added to my order and they also told me they saw my order was processed and would be delivered on the 27th. My order status shows 27-28 as well.
Nice... So hopefully stays for you...my buds should be here today...

I’m still firmly stuck on October 30. My husband’s is October 28. That’s the stinker who insisted he wasn’t ordering! 😆
