Place your bets -- how long until Mac Mini updates?

I hope they do the following to the Mini

1) Do not kill it, as I want an updated one!
2) Give it the Santa Rosa chipset so it has better graphics!
3) Standard 1gb of ram
4) Lower the price to $499. Seriously!

If they did all 4, this thing would sell like hot cakes again and would help get switchers.

by these specs and price point they probably wouldn't make enough profit per unit to justify keeping it an active line. The RAM, HD, and processor alone would cost Apple around $250, not to mention the case and other components, the price of assembly, and shipping from overseas.

That's ok, they should take a lower profit initially. In the long run they would be selling it for what, a 1 yr before an update? By the time they upgrade again they will be making RIDICULOUS margins and it should all balance out.

It's not like they aren't making huge margins on it now
