Coming from an iPhone 7 plus, there is a little bit of a learning curve with the new gestures. I do like the larger screen in a smaller form factor. The screen is gorgeous. Face ID is fast. Haven't had any rejections, yet. And I really dig the way Face ID works with 1Password. I haven't tried everything. However, I really like the new iPhone X.

Without looking at them side by side I don’t feel like I’m compromising on size at all honestly

And it concerned me greatly downsizing in width

I don’t know or think that I care about an X plus with awkward Plus body and that epic of a screen

This feels
Solid

I'm coming from the 6S Plus. To me, the actual screen looks about the same but it feels lighter (in weight) and fits my small hands a lot better.

The iPhone X is on the left and my iPhone 6s Plus is on the right. Same screens are displayed for comparison.

Does your X seem MUCH brighter than your 6s+? Mine seemed the same and wasn’t sure if my X had an issue.

I’m loving the phone... but hating the transition this time.

I can’t restore from my backup because iPhone X must be updated first... update has been requested, but I’m still waiting since this morning... (it’s almost 4 pm here btw)
That irritated the daylights out of me but thankfully the update was available right away.

Next year the XL is coming out which I waited for this reason

Next year they're already coming out with the iPhone 40?

I kid, I kid...

But I like the idea of calling it the iPhone XL. The problem with the nomenclature is that Apple calls the X the "Ten", so that would make the "XL" the "40". They should have called it the iPhone "X", and the bigger one the "XL". Kind of like when Windows jumped from Windows 8 to Windows 10. Apple literally did the same thing, except they confused it further by using an X. I'm getting more confused just thinking about it.

No, I wouldn't say brighter but there is a difference in the quality of the display. It kind of looks like having my 4K TV right beside my TV without 4K.

I LOVE this phone. Coming from a 6+ can’t believe I’ve been dealing with the slowness for so long. The X is super fast in comparison. After using the phone for a couple of hours going back to the 6+ it just seems so BIG and FAT.

Also Face ID is amazing. I’m not even aware of it working it’s so seamless. With Touch ID I was always conscious of putting my thumb on. And it wouldn’t always work. So far Apple was right. Face ID is the future.

Color me impressed!

My last two iPhones were the 6+ and 7+. For me, the X size hits the sweet spot. If a X+ comes out next year don’t think I’ll preorder but will wait until I can try one out at the Apple store first.

I miss the size of the 6+, though it's the only thing I miss. The keyboard is narrower and I find it more difficult to type on, and I just miss having the extra space in general. I wish there were an option for an X+.

However, everything else is far superior and it was still worth upgrading.

Couldn’t agree more.

I’m really looking forward to a possible X Plus, but coming from the 7 Plus, I am in love with this form factor. The screen and limited bezels just blow me away. I used my 7 Plus for a few moments after experiencing the X and it immediately felt dated years behind in quality. It was like coming from a tube tv to an OLED flatscreen.

Oh I have a 7plus still in my possession

I’m just saying on it’s own non issue

Yeah 7plus is fatter but it’s not a problem

The notch isn’t a problem either honestly

I almost like it for being custom apple shape and bowing to their specifications :D

I’ve been wishing Apple would make a phone smaller then the plus with a larger screen as I always thought the plus was too large and the regular 7 too small. I guess my wish has came true. Can’t wait to receive my X within the next hour or so, hopefully!

I, totally, agree!

I've had a plus model since the 6 came out ... All in all I like the X better. It is easier for me to hold (I am a woman with small-ish hands). The only issue for me is the tiny keyboard. I can't type much of anything without hitting the wrong key. But overall for me, this size is really perfect.

If Apple were to come out with a beta in the next 13 days that supported horizontal viewing in notes/mail/messages/Safari/home screen I would 100% say I’m keeping it. But at the moment I find it too much of a step back over functionality of the Plus for $400 more and that’s pushing aside video/image cropping and smaller keyboard (I could live with those - just).

Face ID - camera - feel in the hand - display - sound - all huge positives over the 6S+.

I just did a comparison for a friend between the two devices and lack of those horizontal screen features (regular view) are just too much of a negative for my personal use/needs.

This is after 24 hours of having/using the X.

Give us a regular view option Apple!

ive owned the last two iterations of the plus, love the size, but I’ve transitioned to the X, which I am hearing is noticeably smaller in screen real estate, so I’m wondering how the transition feels so far?

My X is on the delivery truck as I type so I can provide my two cents later, but curious to get feedback from those that have already been lucky enough to use their new toy.

It’s bigger by 0.3 inch....5.8 - 5.5, you do the math...

Oh, okay. Any plans for your 7 Plus? For me the notch was almost transparent. I really didn't notice it at first.
As for some of the anti notch posts . . . I think . . . . "much ado about nothing" But everyone is entitled to their opinions and people think differently.

Keeping it. Maybe period, but especially/at the very least until a x jailbreak

Don’t wanna shoot myself in the foot for a little coin and more importantly short sightedness. But maybe keep it period just cause.

I had the 6S Plus, and 7 Plus and just got the X a few hours ago, and I can honestly say they nailed the size of the X. The Plus always felt too big and clumsy, but the vanilla 6 or 7 felt too small due to the screen size (not physical size). This one is about the same physical size as the vanilla iPhone but the all screen makes it feel similar to the Plus when in use without all the clumsiness.

On a side note, I was very worried about the notch and, so far, have found it a complete non-issue. I don't look at that area of the screen, so it just isn't a problem. However, when I am in that area, or if I am thinking about it, the notch is definitely there.

After waiting 11 hours last night (cheers to all the new friends made!) I was able to pickup my X and cancel my preorder. I love the size of the phone, but as many others mentioned, I'm slowly adapting to a smaller screen width wise. Simply because of the keyboard, etc.

The screen itself is awesome. I can use the phone better one handedly while enjoying a larger screen.

Mark my words, the notch will become an iconic differentiator for the iPhone in a few years. It's not going away.
