No, why would I? On the other hand, maybe I do as I have a keyboard that always covers the screen when folded. Does that count?

Does the keyboard rub on the screen when it's folded and damage the screen? I'll put u down as a 2 and a 3. Me I'm a 1 and a 4 and an 8. I don't own no IPads at the moment but i have screen protectors on my 8 and 9.7 inch Tab S2's. I had a screen protector on the IPadPro 12.9 2017 i used to have, a Zagg, but i liked the screen a little better naked, both for responsiveness and appearance. And i ain't sayin nuttin else widout my attorney gets here.

No screen protectors, my case has a nice felt like inner layer that sits on the screen when I close the case.

no, none on my pro 10.5".

however I do usually have one on my tablets/phones.

but as my pro does not get used much I not fitted one.

My MacBook Air 11.6" though DOES have one and a silicone keyboard cover too.

My fiancee has one on her iPad Pro 9.7" and iPad Air 2 and Samsung galaxy tabS 8.4"

Absolutely not. The 'protector' harbors sand and other particulates which will over time scratch the glass. The 'protector' also quickly degrades and reflects light making the screen look hazy and difficult to focus through. The 'protector' also changes the touch and feel of the screen making interaction less amazing.

More time than I can count, have I removed the old screen protector from an iPad and seen the eyes of the owner look in surprise at how amazing the glass looks. Only then to quickly smack myself in the forehead as they remark, 'Look how good of a job the protector did, that glass is perfect'.

I always use a quality, edge protecting, case. Currently using this one for the 10.5:

This one for the 2017 iPad:

Yes, I use a glass screen protector on my iPad. Not noticeable apart from around the home button. Concerned the Pencil was going to lead to scratches on the screen if grit ever got between the tip and the glass.

I'm tempted to try tempered glass protector as that is what is on my phone and my last tablet.
In my research, tempered glass is an expensive placebo. The glass of an iPad is very strong towards the center, where most of the hits occur. It is the very edge of the glass that is susceptible to an impact that shatters or hairline cracks the screen. Tempered glass doesn't protect that very little edge danger zone.

I cannot scratch the glass of an iPad with keys, scissors or even a rusty nail. I've yet to see a scratch caused by Apple Pencil grit. The only thing I've seen consistently scratch the surface glass is a naked iPad placed face down on a flat surface covered in sand. If there is a case with a very small lip, this is usually enough to prevent scratches, even in this rare occurrence.

I'm not worried so much for dropping it.

more so for when I get my pencil and marking up screen over time.
marks will look horrible in certain light situations.

I tend keep devices until too old be useful of they die.
so what screen stay clear as possible, can replace glass protector easier than glass face.

I'm using the Logitech keyboard the doesn't contact the screen. The design of the cover is ever so slightly raise, preventing the keys from touch the screen. I've been using this keyboard cover for nearly 4 years now and the only real reason i have it is for regular touch typing verses trying to use the virtural keyboard that is very slow for me. About the only negative on the cover is it adds a little weight to the unit.

iPad Pro 10.5 since launch, having a full cover case similar to Apple's leather case, no screen protector. I am staring at a deep scratch right now, so iPad definitely could get scratched. I had the same setup for my iPad Air 2 for more than 2 years without any noticeable scratch.

bought folio case for my 10.5 pro with screen protector...

case fitted fine.... the protector however was a 9.7"
a lot of good that was! but for then low cost of £3 I'm not gonna complain too much

That is hard to believe. See post #13.

" I treat my equipment they way expensive devices should be cared for."

Sure, we all try to, but accidents happen.

Yes. I have a glass one on my iPad Pro and iPad mini. I went without a screen protector for about 2 months on my 7 plus as the previous one had cracked and I couldn’t be bothered to put another on on. If didn’t get scratched before I sold it.

The one one on the iPad Pro got damaged when I put it into a new case. I had it off for a few days but it started to feel rancid and I put another one on.

I have one on my iPhone X too.

I’ve given up on screen protectors. I’ve just never had one that doesn’t annoy me by not being seamless enough. So I figure I will just enjoy my products. And if something bad happens, I will deal.

Nope. I don't like them and don't use them on my iPad Pro 10.5. I also have the Smart Keyboard on it when I travel so I'm not worried about other things in my bag scratching it. I'm also very careful with it.

I also haven't had a screen protector on my iPhone for the past 4 years and it's still scratch free and that's a device that's often times in the same pocket as my keys.

The only device I put a tempered glass screen protector on is my Nintendo Switch because it's a plastic screen and scratches easily. Apple stuff stays naked on the front.

I use a screen protector but not for protection. I got my iPad Pro mainly for illustration and while it works great out of the box, I just prefer the feel of Pencil on a slightly matte screen protector, feels a bit more like paper. The picture is very slightly worse because of it.

Unless you have similar reasons, I don’t think you need a screen protector.

I use a matte screen film to help prevent fingerprints/grease and glare on all my iOS devices (iPhone, iPad mini, and iPad Pro). Not really for protection. On my iPad Pro it additionally serves to give the pencil more drag resistance.

I also have clear skins on the backs of my iPad mini and iPhone to give them more grip and keep them from sliding off seats etc. Again, not really for protection. On my iPad Pro, since I regularly carry it in my bag with other items, I have a Smart Keyboard cover for the front and a skin on the back.

My thoughts exactly. Using the iPad is just so smooth and seamless without a protector. Some get tacky, some get greasy. I haven't used one since my iPad 2 back in the day. Same with the iPhone. It seems to cheapen the experience.

My 12.9 Pro doesn't have a screen protector, but it is protected with the silicone case and a sleeve. I assumed it would be better without one for Pencil responsiveness and image clarity.
