I do hope what ever they build looks good. I know people who have offices full of iMacs purely because they match the aesthetic of the office.

I really like the trademark Apple silver. Space grey is ok but I love the silver.

Though my iPhone is black and the jet black on the trash can is beautiful same with the jet black iPhone 7. Black is also one of my favourite colours but I've been on a modern design kick lately and um loving the traditional Apple aesthetic and how it fits into room design.

so do i..

another way to approach it would be for apple to offer more than one sized housing in a somewhat similar way as they do with laptops.

though i suppose yet another approach has somewhat been outlined by apple already..
they could actually build mMP based around the most demanding user.. then their smaller pro offerings could be in the form of MBP and a souped up iMac..

which, imo, might be the solution to appease the largest group of users / use cases.

the three-headed monster reminiscent of the 90's Chicago Bulls ;)

personally, i imagine once the mMP is no longer vaporware and i've replaced my current 2013&2014 computers, i'll be on both a MBP and iMac (with possibly the vapor apple display as my 2nd).. instead of mMP..

edit-
though even that leaves out a big(?) group of people wanting a stand-alone desktop computer that doesn't contain 4 GPUs..
new mac mini needed too?

ok, after seeing today's announcements, i'd say they're almost certainly going this route.
mMP will likely be a beast of a computer.

but, we're basically only talking about GPU.. is that right?

Oh definitely not. There is a lot more out there that goes into slots and bays than just a GPU. See the "What's in your PCIe slots" thread for example.

There are a lot of interesting things in that thread. Also some mundane cards like a simple USB expansion/upgrade card.
