Not interested. I wouldn't personally get any use out of it, and it would at least initially be priced well above what I'd be prepared to pay.

I think tablet computers could well be the appliance that saves the mainstream media.

Yep. I'd spring for an NYT sub and start banging on the doors of some current magazines to let me sub ONLY to the digital editions.

Anyway I would love a tablet. I can't see doing spreadsheeting on an iPod touch, I need more room and bigger font...

Plus Apple always knows what else something is good for when they roll the thing off the drawing board. There will be cool apps we never realized would make a tablet so handy. Hope there's one that takes the smudges off the glass for me every 10 minutes. :D

If it can run the software that I need and it's waterproof, then I'm interested. If it only runs special software, like the iPhone does, and it can't get wet, then it's useless.

i think that a mac tablet would be great. i would love one for photoshop. but it should be around 9-13 inches. otherwise it would defeat the purpose of a tablet. i personally would like a litter 9 inch one it would be like having a oversized iphone running osx. which would be great.

Absolutely yes, I'm very interested. I want to buy something portable that isn't a laptop if I can help it. I've held off on the iPhone/Touch so far because I want to see if these Newton-redux rumors finally pan out. Looks like they may be about to. Just hope it does everything the current Apple handhelds do but ALSO word processing---TextEdit at least. That's a function I absolutely need (yo Steve!) I guess the question is whether or not it runs a full OS X or just the iPhone version.

What do you all think?

Absolutely interested. With the number of e-books that I have I would use this over a Kindle DX alone. Almost all of my Wrox and Apress books I have on my shelf also have PDF versions - and to see it on something like a tablet and not just e-ink would be awesome.

I also work in the medical industry and could see something like a 10" touchscreen OSX-based tablet being a boon to MY bottom line as a developer - especially if it has wireless and bluetooth so I can communicate with other medical equipment and apps.

I would certainly get something like this over a MacBook Air.

Probably, would be awesome for working and designing interfaces.

Using the multi touch to work with interface positioning etc.

The mac tablet would probably replace the apple air to me.

I'd definitely be interest and probably buy at the right price point. Only if it was a true tablet with stylus and equivalent drawing capabilities as offered by Wacom top rang tablets.

A compact portable device that is a laptop and able to allow fully creative drawing and illustrations like a paper pad, would be my ideal techy toy/tool.

I could sit comfortably on my sofa and doodle and sketch or being creative while watching the big purpose made box in the corner that fills my head with mind numbing entertainment. Creative and lazy lounging at the same time...that's heaven. Just need a robot to go fetch food and drink, and perhaps a toilet built into my chair, and I'd never have to move on lazy weekends. :D

Had a PC tablet

At school some company gave us a dozen of the PC tablets years ago. at first eveybody wanted one, (not us we had to keep 'em running) then they were reduced to adding keyboards and mice and stuck on the desktops. they were fragile and finicky. Worked best treating it like a flat screen.
A big heavy iphone you cant put in your pocket.

No thanks.

Not for me personally since I have a MBP 17 and an upcoming iMac i7 however, maybe for the wife. She could enter her own contests:D but, perhaps a MacBook would be better.

I would buy one in a heartbeat. The iPhone has made my life so much easier. As long as I could run anything I can on my macbook on it then I will for sure be one of their buyers. I love the whole idea of touch screen (even if it is just a consumer fun mentality thing). As long as the keyboard thing could be worked out properly then I see no reason why I would not buy one. :)

Not Sure, I am pretty content with iPod Touch! I mean the only way I see a Tablet is in like 2years when that is the route they want to do with the Macbook Line or if they have it as an eReader.

I want a tablet that can fit in your pocket that has a flip-out keyboard. And HD zoom-able video capability would be nice. I like the idea that it will be 3G capable to give internet practically ANYWHERE. Again, I just don't like using the screen keyboard on the iPhone. I like to have a physical keyboard.

Not Sure

Not sure!! I will have to see what this thing is supposed to do first. Tablets in general have yet to impress me.
