Would you pay up to $1300 (my guess) for a possible 6.5 inch iPhone X Plus next year? If true, it would match the current price of the base model MacBook Pro. Current iPhone X owners, do you think we are beta testing the X? Businesses are pushing the boundaries in terms of pricing. Look at video games with their micro-transactions, half baked games, and forcing loot boxes down our throats (sorta), laptop and phone makers pushing you to buy dongles and so forth.

So far the FaceID has been proven to be unlocked without the users face, initial early scratches/easily scratch-able phones (multiple threads in this forum), GLOD (green line of death), glass is easily breakable compared to previous iPhone models, cracking speakers at high volume, and the ever so notch problem (only to those that are annoyed by it).

I am enjoying the X so far and really love the form factor, as I can hold it in one hand comfortably again over the Plus phones. However, the Plus Xs seem tempting, if true. I have, without a doubt, confidence that Apple will release a Plus size X next year. That way they can get people who bought the X to buy another new iPhone again. It's always been Apple's strategy. Give em a little now, and incrementally come out with something better. Or, do you think Apple should have released the Plus size now alongside with the regular X?

Positives on the Plus size X:

-True multitasking like Ipad Pro
-Picture in Picture
-Longer battery life
-Better PPI
-120hz screen

The way this is going, I assume the regular iPhone models (6, 7, 8 styles) be phased out.

Sounds to me as if you're one of the many complainers over at the Forza forums?

No, I won't buy it for that price and I don't think many will.
No, X buyers are not "beta testers".
Yes, "legacy" iPhone design will slowly be pushed out.

New technology will always come with its own set of problems and issues, and I'm sure most of these are due to high-demand and pressure on manufacturing to get as many units as possible at the door in as little time possible. Once demand comes down, I would expect that many of the issues reported in the earlier units will go by the wayside.

It’ll probably be what the X is at right now.

If it’s $1149, then yes. Probably.

But I’m getting to that point in my life where I don’t get the feeling to get a new device every year. Before my X I used the 6S Plus; even the cool dual camera system wasn’t enough to sway me for the 7.

If Apple had only released the 8 and 8 Plus this year, I likely would have upgraded for the larger capacity and wireless charging (wireless charging is really really cool).

When in 2018?

If the Plus is coming early 2018, like in March, they just made my decision to return the X much easier

Bought a Samsung 8 + because it's already too expensive. Don't mind paying up when the value is there but it's not in light of the competition and significant price difference.

After tax, the iPhone X Plus will likely be around the $1250.00 mark, not even including accessories. But this is what I have been waiting for. For me, the larger dislay, larger battery are huge advantages for me. Regardless, the 5.8 iPhone X is slightly on the small size for me. I will be ordering the 6.5 come preordering.

Gawd, no. I don't even want the iPhone X, Note8, and the Pixel 2 XL for their current prices. The latter two are too tall. The X is too heavy for its size. Imagine the X Plus?

Sticking to the entry-level iPhone compact series. They are basically like the MacBook Air series and Chinese food. Cheap, fast, and good.

Absolutely. I carried a Plus around for three years, so if it exists next year I'll take it in a heartbeat so long as the chassis isn't physically larger than the current 8 Plus.

Too heavy for its size? That's a little absurd no? I don't think I've seen a single complaint about the weight in any review or impression, and it certainly hasn't been an issue whatsoever in the first week and half of use. It feels premium, and it's a big stretch to forego the cameras, battery life, speed, screen size and OLED quality, stereo speakers, and future-iOS capability and opt for the lower end device because of, what, an ounce?

This is Apple we are talking about. I gave up the idea of having a PIP mode and split-screen multi-tasking on a phone. Is it nice? Hell yes on the Androids I used in the past. However, I didn't make use of it enough to miss it. Apple will literally just make a big screen device with little to no additional functionality since it can make big phones and people buy them.

I am content with getting the X since it has a 1125p display with Dolby and HDR 10, it has a OLED screen, it is slimmer than the Plus series, has high brightness, FaceID, Apple Pay support, will get iOS 12 and beyond, etc.

Though it would've been nice to get a 4th GB RAM, more multi-tasking, a QHD screen resolution, bigger battery, etc.

My co-worker called the X "Galaxy like" since the iPhone X feels and looks like a Galaxy. I joked around saying "as long as it doesn't run Samsung software, I am fine." I said ages ago I wanted a Galaxy with iOS and Apple did that more or less. I thought I abandoned iPhone with the Note 8, but too many issues with a carrier branded one, lack of support for bugs and glitches, and an inadequate battery capacity has me looking to go back and I will go back to iOS.

OH YES! GIVE ME THE FLICKER FREE VANILLA BEAN LIQUID CRYSTALS SO I CAN BATHE MY EYES IN THEIR MAGNIFICENTLLY DELIGHTFUL AROMA WHILST WAFTING THAT NEW INNER NEW PHONE SCENT!

edit: ima looooovvvve beast, a loovvve beast, I’M A LOVE BEAST! YEAHAAHA!

I don’t think it will be that expensive. If LG gets their crap together, Samsung will have some competition as display supplier and prices will drop.

Why $1300, why not $1100?

If next year’s X is $1000, why would a Plus sized X be more than $1100? Aren’t Plus models always only $100 more? And they used to add a dual camera for that $100.

The extra $15-20 in BOM cost means Apple will still be making better margins on a X Plus. Expensive phones sell in lower numbers than cheaper phones; Apple wants to keep prices as low as practicable, just not at the expense of margins. (Yeah laugh, but the 8/8 Plus is only $699/$799, and next year they’ll drop to $599/699. Why would someone pay almost double the 8 Plus price for a X Plus? This year was only a $200 difference from 8 Plus to X, don’t forget.)

I could even see next year’s X at $949 and the Plus at $1049.
