me too will keep my iPhone 8 plus as long as i can or Apple will take the notch out firs, rumors say that the new iPad will be notch free

In terms of the iPad, yes; I don’t believe the notch will be present. As far as the iPhone, I do think the Notch will be here for at least the next few generations of iPhones, simply because it houses the hardware and it’s Apple’s choice to utilize such a trademark feature.

Here’s what I think Apple is going to do.. I think the new smaller Xs will get a price drop down to $899. While the Xs+ will start at $999. Basically giving everybody with a X an incentive to upgrade to the + for the same price. I think with a year under their belt. Screen prices, Face ID components, etc are cheaper.. keeping them within the profit margins as they are now

That suggests to me the 6.1” LCD would have to be £200 cheaper than the smaller X for it to fit into the range without clashing. If it’s only £100 cheaper at £799 then consumers will be driven to pay a bit more. I can’t see that happening as Apple will want a structured range with appeal at each level. The LCD version is tipped as being the most popular iPhone this year but I can’t see it being that cheap either.

What you’re posting is basically what the rumors have been saying for a while now. That the current 5.8 X will be reduced to $899 and the 6.5 X will be approximately $999. If Apple wants to make the market more competitive as it is, especially with the introduction of the 6.1 LCD iPhone starting under $750 In all likeliness, then that’s likely what’s necessary to compete and give the consumers the options.

yeah think 6.1 LCD will be in the £699 range. Anything more wouldn't make too much sense otherwise.

You know, I thought for sure there was no way this thread could be true, and now here I am, preparing to pay $1350 for the iPhone XS Max with tax.

Crazy isn't it. Whether you buy this year or skip and wait for the iPhone 11, these prices are not going down. Its a given these prices will also be for the iPhone 11. At least now, you acquire the "S" model.

Probably not. It’s my intention to get just the battery serviced on my 8+ and wife’s X in about another 12 months and continue using these phones until 2020.

I’m not longer in the market for flagship iPhones. The rate of innovation has slowed enough where I’m fine with having a prior generation and saving the money.

Quoting myself. Sticking too it. This my first time completely passing on an Apple launch in about 7 years.

I’m off the Apple release train. I’m slowly breaking down my Apple eco system, and moving away in certain areas of tech. Cost is a factor in addition to just having different priorities in general.

Things could be worse. You could be a Chinese iPhone worker who makes 600 to 800 per month. And the gross margin would be substantially less than 65%. And you wouldn't be able to enjoy the knowledge that Apple owns this... Don't be so selfish.

I came to that conclusion 2 years ago when the 7 came out. I saved £200 just getting a 6S and will buy an 8 this year and take advantage of the savings. I really do think Apple are losing touch with their core users and going after the luxury market. And we wonder why the vast majority of iPhones seen in public are older models.

I think $1,100 for the XS Max compared to $1,000 for the XS is a fair price difference, compared to the smaller model.

$1,300 would have meant a huge premium over the smaller model, and would have been pretty tough to swallow for many. $100 is reasonable.

I think the rumor of $899 and $999 for max is what got people bummed. $999 is already beyond comfort.

Even $699 (they just raised price of iPhones last year $50, another $50 over another year? Weak) $899 $999 for XR XS XSMAX

Would be pretty good!

Rumored 18w usb-a instead of c, and no headphone dongle — shows how much love they have

Case AC+ and a 256 max in the cart for $1550. Haven’t really ever looked back at a price so much and hit the cancel button. That’s just crazy to think almost $1600 for a phone (that’s not even maxed out in GB). Oh well

iPhone 8 and iPhone X and not even thinking twice about not upgrading. First year in a VERY LONG TIME... last year I almost was like I’ll get the 8 and sit the X out, but it didn’t happen.

This year I have no thoughts about any of the iPhones.

The XR has portrait mode with one camera lens which is something Google had already shown can be done. I personally feel like these double and triple camera lens phones look funny from the back.

Apple could have been doing portrait mode on all iPhones since 2015, but opted not too... why? One person in this thread has said the reasoning...”shows how much love they have.”

I know there’s people that will back Apple no matter what and feel like whatever they release is the best thing ever, but this years launch is quite a disappointment.

Would you pay up to $1300 (my guess) for a possible 6.5 inch iPhone X Plus next year? If true, it would match the current price of the base model MacBook Pro. Current iPhone X owners, do you think we are beta testing the X? Businesses are pushing the boundaries in terms of pricing. Look at video games with their micro-transactions, half baked games, and forcing loot boxes down our throats (sorta), laptop and phone makers pushing you to buy dongles and so forth.

So far the FaceID has been proven to be unlocked without the users face, initial early scratches/easily scratch-able phones (multiple threads in this forum), GLOD (green line of death), glass is easily breakable compared to previous iPhone models, cracking speakers at high volume, and the ever so notch problem (only to those that are annoyed by it).

I am enjoying the X so far and really love the form factor, as I can hold it in one hand comfortably again over the Plus phones. However, the Plus Xs seem tempting, if true. I have, without a doubt, confidence that Apple will release a Plus size X next year. That way they can get people who bought the X to buy another new iPhone again. It's always been Apple's strategy. Give em a little now, and incrementally come out with something better. Or, do you think Apple should have released the Plus size now alongside with the regular X?

Positives on the Plus size X:

-True multitasking like Ipad Pro
-Picture in Picture
-Longer battery life
-Better PPI
-120hz screen

The way this is going, I assume the regular iPhone models (6, 7, 8 styles) be phased out.
