No. Went from iPhone 6S Plus to iPhone X. Was a great phone, but I don’t miss the size after the smaller form factor. So I’d say no.

At the end of the day, how I use my phone hasn’t really changed in the last few years. The old models still work very well. I honestly can’t think of anything thus far that would entice me to switch after a year (less) of use.

I Suspect most iPhone X owners won’t upgrade to the new iPhone X in 2018 unless they are more geared to upgrading annually. Reason being, is the 2018 iPhone X likely won’t be that much different with hardware, it’s likely going to be software refinements with augmented reality, camera and Face ID improvements.

Nope.
For me personally I just don’t think phones are worth spending that much, I have an iPhone X and I do like it but it’s not worth £999.. it’s worth £700 at most I would say. I won’t make the mistake again for buying an expensive phone

Nope. That $1300 quickly turns into $1600+ in Europe. The base model iPhone X is already $1225 and that's way steep.

It now seems more likely the plus will be 999/1149, if it were to start at 1299 (presumably even Apple wouldn’t charge that much for a 64GB phone so let’s assume 128GB storage) I would possibly still be interested as I’m avoiding Face ID as long as possible so I’m likely to keep my current phone until it’s unusable (I expect to be a good 4 years as it’s less than a year old) so I potentially wouldn’t mind paying the extra out as I will have saved more by not upgrading more frequently.

Would you pay up to $1300 (my guess) for a possible 6.5 inch iPhone X Plus next year? If true, it would match the current price of the base model MacBook Pro. Current iPhone X owners, do you think we are beta testing the X? Businesses are pushing the boundaries in terms of pricing. Look at video games with their micro-transactions, half baked games, and forcing loot boxes down our throats (sorta), laptop and phone makers pushing you to buy dongles and so forth.

So far the FaceID has been proven to be unlocked without the users face, initial early scratches/easily scratch-able phones (multiple threads in this forum), GLOD (green line of death), glass is easily breakable compared to previous iPhone models, cracking speakers at high volume, and the ever so notch problem (only to those that are annoyed by it).

I am enjoying the X so far and really love the form factor, as I can hold it in one hand comfortably again over the Plus phones. However, the Plus Xs seem tempting, if true. I have, without a doubt, confidence that Apple will release a Plus size X next year. That way they can get people who bought the X to buy another new iPhone again. It's always been Apple's strategy. Give em a little now, and incrementally come out with something better. Or, do you think Apple should have released the Plus size now alongside with the regular X?

Positives on the Plus size X:

-True multitasking like Ipad Pro
-Picture in Picture
-Longer battery life
-Better PPI
-120hz screen

The way this is going, I assume the regular iPhone models (6, 7, 8 styles) be phased out.

Depends. Likely only a couple more bucks a month so price isn’t a factor. Not sure I want to carry a phone that big anymore.

Yeah after having an x I've gotten really comfortable with the smaller size.

I'm comfortable with it on my X, sure. But I miss the Plus size too much. Definitely getting the Plus this September.

I've changed my mindset a bit and will likely go with the Plus as long as it's at $999.

The big key being $999.00. I think this will be a major shift if Apple lowers the starting prices. Once technology and component manufacturing matures over time, prices *can* reduce, which I’m inclined Apple will make the higher tiered iPhones more appealing with price reductions. I agree with your logic.

People here thinking apple going to sell the Plus for the same price as the X from last year........... ;)

But they will, since even apple said that they had extra costs in making the current X's, so since it will be year its safe to assume that apple will drop prices by a 100.00 to gain sales and they are probably able to make the oled displays with less of them, being not used. Also all of the rumors point to a price drop and a 100.00 price drop does not sound too high of a price drop and it seems with the current X's apple has sold less phones then in the past but they made more per phone.

So a 100.00 price cut will sell more phones for them and they will still make a similar profit on each phone since its been a year and I am sure by now they have economics of scale to where they can make that cut with very little cut to the profit per phone.

People? More like Multiple reports and analysts. I think your post is an ignorant comment, because if you have been following any reports for the past six months, then you would at minimum know that it’s been discussed/indicated and rumored that Apple is looking at reducing the price of the 5.8 iPhone X and introducing the 6.5 X where the 5.8 X is currently. Not sure why its not Believeable, considering its almost certain a 6.1 LCD iPhone will help alter that.

The iPhone X is an expensive early adopter iteration. Subsequent "bezel" less iPhones are going to be cheaper.

Depending on performance I could see myself buying a Plus sized iPhone X in 12 months time.

when Apple puts out a real premium iPhone like a foldable we’ve been hearing about them prepare to pay a premium

if they price it anything like the new macs (some almost 10gs) I'm sure there will be no plus 999 option. Apple seems to not care about catering to lower prices for newer tech. I do not blame them the stuff works and is quality.

At this point I think it' a poor investment. Since so many people upgrade every year or two, spending $1300 for something that will be replaced by something better and faster soon after... I say it's too much for a phone. No thanks.

But in reality, for most people already paying $30 to $40 a month for a phone that they will never actually own, most will certainly justify spending $40 or $50 a month for something they will never own. Vicious cycle for sure.

iPhone X plus will probably be the best selling iPhone ever (honest). I am however going to try to refrain from getting one as i need to try to stay disciplined and keep a phone for more than one year.

I don’t think we’ll see it be the best selling ever due to its retail cost, size and the fact the upgrade market has shrunk significantly since 2015.

With so many iPhone models selling alongside each other we now have more varied choice for the consumer. Older models are also selling well 12 months after their release which is something that wasn’t as apparent just a few years ago. People shouldn’t be fooled into believing the only people who buy older models are those who can’t afford the new releases either. I’ve seen a major shift in buying habits due to higher prices and it’s these higher prices that have driven up profit albeit in lesser numbers.

There’s a reason the iPhone 6 sold so well and that was new form factor and the fact it’s retail price started at around £600.
