No.

Any phone bigger than the iPhone X will just be uncomfortable to use and carry. The X is already pushing that border, in my opinion.

I feel the same way, not even a $999 price tag on the X Plus would urge me to buy a phone that would be so difficult to manage on a daily basis due to its size. It’s too big for it’s usefulness.

A 6.5 iPhone might be too big for some, however; I’m not sure how it would limit its usefulness? It would still be useful, just uncomfortable and cumbersome.

Agreed. I love the plus sizes. If you can get used to the notch, you can get used to the plus size. I miss my 7+ for the extra width, and the ability to rotate my home screen. Can't wait for the X+ this year.

I held onto my iPhone 6 for three years and saw no need to upgrade to the 6S

?

According to your sig you own "iPhone 6S x4".

Apple has already said that it’s polishing iOS 12 rather than a bunch of new features. And as many of us know iOS 11 needs polishing
So being their isnt a bunch of new features and size will be the big draw it’s hard to see a $1389 price tag
If they have a $1399 price demand will be timid

$1399 for the X Plus? Not even close. I don’t think Apple will start the X Plus that high, I’m thinking somewhere around $1200 whatever the base storage might be. If Apple starts the iPhone X Plus at $1399, I think that will be a very difficult sell to a consumer and I don’t know what kind exclusive features they can include that would entice someone to upgrade at that price point.

You don’t know what features it will have

There’s no rumours what features it will have yet

Depends. Likely only a couple more bucks a month so price isn’t a factor. Not sure I want to carry a phone that big anymore.
At what point is price a factor by that logic? $54/mo for the phone at $1,299. $63/mo on the IUP. That doesn't seem absurd when three years ago we were paying $200-300 only for subsidized phones? Granted, those prices came with an agreement to a carrier, but still. If consumers keep accepting "a few more bucks a year" then the prices keep going up.

Depends on the cost/features. Every individual is different. I use my iPhone more than any other computing device so it is the most valuable to me.

You are clearly able to justify the expense to yourself but as you say, every individual is different. I use my iPhone for both business and pleasure, granted it’s not my primary computing device because it can’t run SolidWorks, Matlab, PDM or SAP. I’m under no illusions though that the iPhone 6S is no less capable than a brand new iPhone X or even the rumoured Plus for what I use it for. Taking photos of product testing, my kids, email and social media is the most taxing things I do and every iPhone does that. When I upgrade it’ll be to keep a device that is fast under the current version of iOS. I do think the prices have got out of hand, but the lack of current iPhones I am seeing suggests trends are beginning to change in my part of the world.

I’ve always been amazed how few Plus sizes iPhones I’ve observed over the last 3 and a half years so I expect an X Plus will be like hens teeth.

I am going to be out on any of the 2018 iPhones. I am done with Apple because of the lack of software features.

One of these reasons I switched from a Plus to the x was because of the size.

Even though the camera features are a high priority for me I feel like even that wouldn’t convince me to switch back to a plus.

The iPhone and iOS is not for everyone. But I can say as two strong alternatives for 2018 will be the Note 9 or Pixel three. Those are two choices that I would consider if I was not with the iPhone.

All fair points. Personally, I enjoy the new features and have the money to spend. I absolutely don’t need it, but it’s something I like. It’ll likely stop at some point. I agree though, most people use the standard size. I don’t want to go bigger than the X.

Thing is, it isn't even a question of having the money to spend. I could go out and buy an X full price tomorrow with what I currently have in my wallet, BUT I won't, just like I won't burn bank notes or throw them out the car window as I drive down the street.

As long as a 7 or 8 can do all the things required there is no need to throw a handful of money away just to be able to say "I have an X" that isn't really any better.

From the total lack of them in my area I'm not the only one who appears to be thinking that either. I have seen one X since release day (outside of Apple Stores) and I'm in the phone industry...

I can’t do Note 9 because it’s going to be too pricey. Pixel 3 is my #1 phone on my want list since I can possibly get a Pixel 2 in the next month or so. I’ll trade that in and take advantage of the T-Mobile deal to get the Pixel 3. The S9+ is my #2 choice over the summer. LG V30 is a distant third since I am seeing the prices plummet.

It’s not that iOS isn’t for everyone. It’s just the fervor Apple does things. It’s lethargic and apathetic.

Oh that’s definitely not the case for me. I said I enjoy the new features and that’s the reason why I get them. I don’t care to say “I have an X”. If I like the features of a product, I buy it. People look too deeply into it. It’s just a purchase.

Someone should write down all the "no" people. That way, we look back in 6 or 7 months and see who had a quick 3am change of heart. :D

If someone bought me the iPhone X+, I wouldn’t mind trying it. But I don’t think I will be pre-ordering at 3 am because I’ll be waiting a month for the Pixel 3.

I am glad that Android works well for many here. I cant go back. It would be like getting back together with an old girlfriend, with a relationship that didn't go well the first time. Gotta have an Apple girl.

Would you pay up to $1300 (my guess) for a possible 6.5 inch iPhone X Plus next year?

I highly doubt the Plus sized X is going to be $300 more than the current model. Typically the difference between a ‘standard’ size and the Plus version is $100, not $300.

Regardless, I’ll be upgrading from my X to whatever OLED Plus model they come out with this year (assuming they do so).

If true, it would match the current price of the base model MacBook Pro.

Irrelevant.

Current iPhone X owners, do you think we are beta testing the X?

No.

So far the FaceID has been proven to be unlocked without the users face, initial early scratches/easily scratch-able phones (multiple threads in this forum), GLOD (green line of death), glass is easily breakable compared to previous iPhone models, cracking speakers at high volume,

None of these are issues that impact the overwhelming majority of X owners, and none speak to a ‘beta’ status.

and the ever so notch problem (only to those that are annoyed by it).

The notch isn’t a ‘problem’. It’s a reality of having to put sensors/cameras/etc somewhere. Indeed, now that Apple has done it, most of the new Android models are also notching their phones. Love it or hate it (I don’t mind it at all), it’s not a problem and isn’t likely going to go away anytime soon.

I love my X, FaceID, the gorgeous OLED display (those true blacks make such a difference), the swipe based interface ... and I know I’ll love whatever the flagship phone is this year.

A Plus sized OLED would be absolutely amazing.

This could be me. I am not a huge fan of large phones, but that is really only considering the 6-8 Plus size. If it's narrower and has some compelling features added to the larger model, I would certainly take a look. Right now though, I don't see it as a huge need.
