After tax, the iPhone X Plus will likely be around the $1250.00 mark, not even including accessories. But this is what I have been waiting for. For me, the larger dislay, larger battery are huge advantages for me. Regardless, the 5.8 iPhone X is slightly on the small size for me. I will be ordering the 6.5 come preordering.
Heck, after tax.. that's what my 256GB iPhone X is almost worth!

I've been using 6+ for 3 years and now using X - so I'm very happy with current size because it is so much easier to hold and type one hand.

You won't see much different when upgrading from X to X+ - the screen will be slighly bigger and notch will be there as well...

The answer I will not upgrade to X+, I will wait till iPhone release on X2 or X3

- LTE (no more nano sim)
- True OLED 4k
- 5/6/7G network
- Gigabit wifi
- Fast charging
- Powerful battery storage - that will last 48hrs
- colour LED notifications at the front or backside.
- More powerful processor (replace MacBook Pro)
- run MacOS when in dock mode / mobile run as iOS
- fastet SSD internal HD

As long as it's not gimped on features like the current plus/4.7 line Up. I shouldn't get less phone cuz I want less screen

No. The iPhone is no longer a wow device. I’m not really sure when it peaked. Maybe the iPhone 6/6 Plus. They do not fundamentally do anything else different for me or more convenient for me than my iPhone 4S from 2011. They’ve just gotten a little more refined and a LOT more expensive. Touch ID and 3D Touch are, for me, the most innovative features I use on a daily basis, but otherwise, the phones don’t do anything really different . Smartphones in general are stale and uneventful. I suppose the tech jumps are no longer there.

Apple is always going to create a separation for the larger model iPhone and why they would want to sell you the more expensive larger model iPhone similarly to the iPhone Plus. It's called marketing, and by doing so, they are going to make certain features exclusive to the larger model. Not Everybody agrees with that, but Apple wants to sell you the most expensive model that will have capabilities the smaller models will not.

Yup, a classic differentiation strategy. Some don’t understand that it’s not that they take away features from the lower priced phone; they’re adding features to the higher priced phone to make it “worth” paying more.

I’ve always felt the Plus size was worth the $100 bump, just for the bigger screen, higher ppi and additional battery capacity. But Apple always had the dual camera upgrade in there too. So if you liked the smaller phone but wanted dual cameras, you were outta luck. D’oh!

Now that the X already has dual cameras, I think the two phones might have feature parity going forward (other than screen and battery). But maybe they’ll figure out something else to add.

It’s got to be HW though, people don’t like to pay extra for SW features lol

My 8+ should be able to last 3 years easily and I’m very happy with how it performs and the screen size/format. A 6.5" X+ would have to offer something new and exciting in terms of functionality, not just design, more speed, faceID and lack of a home button. Screen size alone is not enough either. The OLED screen would also have to be improved over the current X. At that price, I’m not willing to accept PWM or any uniformity issues. Since I already have the 8+, it would have to convince me enough that getting the X+ would make for a better experience than upgrading one of my older devices, such as my 2014 13" Macbook Pro or 1st gen 12.9" iPad Pro. Heck, or just throwing $1300 at my gaming PC, which I use more than my phone.

Actually, you’d get the more tablet-like view of iOS apps. That’s one of the advantages of using the Plus-sized phones over the regular iPhone 4.7” size. The iPhone X is 5.8”, but since it’s so narrow (similar to iPhone 8’s width), it offers no more useful features than the standard 4.7” iPhone 8. It’s just taller.

The X isn’t a bad phone, but it’s not as “big” as the Plus in many ways.

I think apple narrow down iPhone X due aspect ratio for the video/photo and overall GUI purpose, I'm sure x+ will have many advantage over X.

Absolutely

Why are people harping on about the X not being as big as the Plus phones and not offering this or that? Let me tell you a little secret - it was never intended to be as big as or offer the same as Plus phone. It is what it is, a new form factor for those who don't like carrying around phablets, something that only slightly wider than the regular phone but with a bit more vertical screen estate.

So onto the question at hand, no, absolutely no way would I buy a plus sized X. It's big enough as it is, bordering on the edge of one-handed usability. Anything larger and it becomes unwieldy for my tastes. My phone is pretty much used as a phone in portrait mode. Anything else such as media I'll use a TV or iPad rather than compromise with a still relatively small plus phone in comparison.

I will have the X+ the day it comes out, but then I have T-Mobile Jump!, so it’s a no-brainer. Of course, this is assuming that there will be an X+, which I’m doubtful about.

I will gladly pay the Apple tax for the 2018 Plus variant. I’m on IUP so a few more dollars a month makes no difference to me anyway.

Just for clarification, you mean a 64GB model X plus, right? The 256GB X is already $1220-$1250 after tax in states that charge sales tax.

When in 2018?

If the Plus is coming early 2018, like in March, they just made my decision to return the X much easier

Sep/Oct as always.

No, at that point I’ll consider migrating over to the Google/Android ecosystem. Not because I’m unhappy with Apple’s products, but I’ve used an iPhone since the original and I can’t justify that price just to listen to podcasts, music, email, and to check social media. But I have a feeling there will always be a lower cost iPhone, even if it’s not called the SE, there’s always a previous generation iPhone available that will be a solid device for several years.

I had a question a few months back on which iPhone will anyone buy the 8 plus or the X. Many people responded with the X if they were a owner of an iPhone 6. Me I'm still with my iPhone 6s plus because I'm just undecided on which iPhone to get. i think that my issue is spending the 1000 dollars for the iPhone X especially now that I'm reading that next year their is going to be a X PLUS. So do i wan to replace my phone 6s plus, yes. But which one, i have no idea!

In a heartbeat and figured it would come, get a lot of people to upgrade...again.
I want a bigger screen for sure even though I love the X.

This tax thing is getting really old. People pay more because they get more. If you buy an iPhone 8 at $699 vs an SE at $349, is that difference actual value, or “Apple tax”?

Isn’t an iPhone 7, at $549, a pretty amazing value for a phone/camera/gps/iPod/email/Internet device that will last 3 or more years? (My main uses, everyone’s different but that’s the beauty of it.) Doesn’t the $349 SE do the same things?

Look at the $329 iPad, the series 1 watch at $249 or the AirPods ay $159. Is there a competing product that you can honestly say is as good or better that undercuts those price points? Or does Apple basically own the tablet, smart watch and truly wireless earbud markets? There’s no Apple tax, if anything there’s “Apple discount”. Tim Cook’s Apple.

btw not really directed at you edlex but I got triggered :D

As long as people keep paying the high prices, Apple will continue to charge the high prices.

A lot of people on this forum seem to defend the high prices and happily pay whatever price tag Apple slaps on their products. There's also a lot of people that think the prices are getting out of control (I'm part of that group) and we're labeled as cheap or poor because we feel there is less value in these new devices as compared to the price tag attached.

I opted to go iPhone 8 Plus, I was on the IUP with my 7 Plus so my payments remained the exact same when I turned in the phone for the 8 Plus. I didn't feel an almost 20% increase in my monthly IUP payments was worth going to the iPhone X when my 8 Plus is about 96% of the phone that the X is. Not saying the X is a bad phone in any means, I just didn't need it at this point and I'm happy for those that got it and I'm not judging them for it either but I feel like those that didn't get it are getting wrongly judged by a good amount of people on here (not all people).

For my needs, no big deal that I still have some bezels and a home button. I still have the same processor, rear camera, wireless charging, fast charging, RAM, etc. that the X has. I can live without the Face ID, front camera array (in the Notch) and OLED screen this time around.

Just my opinion as a consumer that speaks with my wallet.

Just my opinion here, but these phones have gotten so advanced that for me, I won’t ever get the newest phone anymore. I did up to the 6 plus, and I got my wifey the 7 plus, but for me personally I’ll start buying last years top model.
I’m happy for those that are in the position financially to get them, and I do love all the newest features, but I’ll be happy lagging behind a year or maybe two.

Gotcha. You bought a great phone, an 8 Plus at $799. But you didn’t but a Pixel 2/XL at $649/849, an S8/S8+ at $725/825 or an LG V-30 for $830.

For the total package, however you define that—hardware, software, usability, ecosystem, warranty, quality, privacy, security, etc—you felt that Apple gave you the best value for your money. Not because you’re a “sheep” or Apple is just good at marketing.

The phrase “Apple tax”, meaning paying more just because it has an Apple logo, is just BS.
