I'm in medical school. They require us to buy an HP Elitebook which we take exams on. They are encrypted to view patient records and other confidential health info.

When you deal with HIPAA it would be wise to have a dedicated and locked computer. If you don't deal with NPI then it's hard to understand how a company or school can push you to use something specific.

Not sure what you're getting at. They can and do push us to use something specific because IT doesn't want to deal with maintaining multiple system types. Never heard of NPI, do you mean protected HIPAA identifiers? It IS pretty unfair because I feel that if they're going to lock down our computers, we should have loaners. It's annoying that we are forced to overpay for computers which we then can't have full control over.

Don't see how he could have an NPI, as you have to be giving medical care with a license.

For all my friends who had to buy a prepackaged laptop for medical school, it was for ease of use of the program. Only one type to work on, so testing software could easily be implemented. Plus they got a discount.

Got Uncharted 3 and Sonic Generations for my PS3 at Best Buy today. After trading in 3 old games that I haven't played in ages, and using 2 coupons, only paid $5.96 for Sonic Generations. So it was a good day.

Then I realized it was for the AT&T iPhone but the site posted it in the Verizon iPhone case section ... Tried to fix it and broke the switch/volume parts of the case. Oh well. Still works :)

4 of these brand new Yokohama YK580 tires in stock size 245/45/17 for the Mustang and a 4 wheel alignment from the Ford dealer...$930 in damage to the wallet:

I originally wanted to get a set of Yokohama Advan S.4 tires, but for whatever reason my size and only my size seems to be being phased out in that tire, as the ones Tire Rack had just received in September had 2006 production date codes on them so those were no good...but then I found these by accident and it turns out they are an all new tire Yokohama just came out with a couple months ago, and should be better than the Advans all around.

So far I've got a couple hundred miles on them and they are great, no issues/complaints at all.

One of these:

MyBook Studio 1.5TB for only 90$! (I thought I heard a noise on my current MyBook Essential, which is probably nothing because it works fine, but I'll enjoy the Firewire 800 of the new drive.)
