Haha thanks guys!! It was a very nice birthday!

Got another couple gifts - how to win friends and influence people audio book for my long commute and a seagate expansion 2tb drive for $57 for myself to set up with my ps3. Should look nice with it!

$57 that is a sweet deal!

Key word there is certainly "yet". Within the next 10 years, I anticipate train security to become a hassle. Maybe not as much as air travel, but I think it will become tighter than it is now. The only security measure right now are dogs walking around. All I do is go to the ticket kiosk, print my ticket and go to the gate. No security lines, no nothing. A lot of times I never come close to the dogs. It would be easy to slip bombs, etc onto the trains.
Agreed. I don't think it will be as bad as air travel, but I'm sure it will get stricter. What is the security procedure for bringing your car? Do they just have dogs searching?
Yeah it takes 17 hours officially where if I drove it would take 12 hours, but often times it leaves at 3:30 PM if the train isn't full and arrives at 8:00-8:30 am( 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes early). Out of my 12 trips on the train, only once did it not arrive early( it was an hour late). The food on the train is also pretty decent.

It is a lot more convenient. Don't have to deal with traffic, idiotic drivers, etc. It's far more relaxing to sit in my roomette, tether my iPhone, etc then to drive the 12 hours.

As I stated above, it also saves 1000 miles of wear and tear on my car. I would have 12,000 more miles on my car if I drove instead of taking the train......

I have a question (since you've been on it a lot), how many people normally ride the train? I was telling someone about it but they were concerned about the train being deserted ... I've been on Amtrak many times in the NE and its almost never deserted, but I thought I'd ask about the Auto Train.

Sprint OverDrive Pro Review

Posted a review on my new toy, the Sprint OverDrive Pro!

Had a lot of fun with this thing. My cable modem died and couldn't wait for the weekday to get it replaced so I ran to Best Buy and got one for the weekend to play with it. It was free for 2 year activation and Sprint has a 30 day return policy which also includes the usage.

Paid it off today. Whoot!

Now, I just have one more to pay off ($500) and then I'll be debt free (if you don't count my car  but that's next!)

Also,

Bought the girlfriend that attachment. She found an amazing recipe for frozen yogurt that is just like pink berry. Incredibly easy to make, takes 5 minutes, then 25 in the machine.

Serious? I bought a book called Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream. She is out of Ohio and her ice cream fetches upwards of $12.00 per pint. I just learned you can get her stuff in Whole Foods but at $12.00 a pint, I can't really see being able to hand over the cash for that. However, her book is written using recipes that were mastered on a home ice cream machine so they do work. Other books seem to give you the ingredients and such but results tend to vary more because they probably have not been attempted on a home machine in decades if ever. She also tends to go into the science of things and why she chooses the ingredients she chooses. It's a good read tbh. There are yogurt recipes in there as well.

Being from So. Cal. it is surprising that I've never been to a pink berry. Penguins was where it was at for ages until they suddenly disappeared.

I really hope they make these in black soon. I have the 50, 54 and 60 and when the sun hits the face at the right angle the face reflects the light directly into my eyes and its really annoying.

Penguins hasn't disappeared. I was at one on the weekend.

Pinkberry is so three years ago. Yogurtland is where it's at now.:p

Well, considering I just bought these, I'm sure they'll come out with the black/smoke version of these wedges within the next 2-3 months . At which point I'll sell these and get those as well since I hate the sun glare effect as well. Would match pretty nicely with my smoke RAC MB TP irons too :p

Yeah they have dogs go by the cars and sniff them, etc. They also have people with mirrors to see the underside of the car as well. They say it is to survey for any existing damage, but I am sure they are also looking for any explosives, etc as well.

Like anything, the Auto Train has its busy times, etc, but it is never deserted at least for the times I go on it. When I go back to school for the Spring semester, it is packed with old people heading down to FL. The train can be sold out a month before the train departs. When it isn't busy, you don't get the feeling you're the only one on the train.

Even on the train I was on yesterday on the fourth of July, the train wasn't full. They only had 150 vehicles( believe their capacity is around 250) and 317 people.

Verizon iPhone 4 - 16GB White

I wanted to get grandfathered in before the unlimited data plans went away, so I switched back. I had Verizon for 10-12 years prior to buying the iPhone 3GS. Boy, is it good to be back! I had intended to switch when my contract ran out in October so I could buy the iPhone 5, but alas, fate didn't have that in the cards. So, I'll be selling this when the new one is launched.

Seidio Spring Clip Holster

Right now my iP4 is naked and I use the pouch that came with my Gen 5.5 iPod Video. I imagine this will be the first of many cases/holsters/pouches I will try out.

Thought buying this was a good idea after getting some skin peeled off my index finger and a callous on my palm. Only $5.

Had a fantastic 4th of July weekend at the beach, but was really wishing I had some good sunglasses. I usually go for the cheap stuff because I lose/break them. Finally bit the bullet and got myself a nice pair. I will not lose them!
