Serious? I bought a book called Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream. She is out of Ohio and her ice cream fetches upwards of $12.00 per pint.
I just learned you can get her stuff in Whole Foods but at $12.00 a pint, I can't really see being able to hand over the cash for that. However, her book is written using recipes that were mastered on a home ice cream machine so they do work. Other books seem to give you the ingredients and such but results tend to vary more because they probably have not been attempted on a home machine in decades if ever. She also tends to go into the science of things and why she chooses the ingredients she chooses. It's a good read tbh. There are yogurt recipes in there as well.
Being from So. Cal. it is surprising that I've never been to a pink berry. Penguins was where it was at for ages until they suddenly disappeared.
