Got this brand new Man U jersey for $30. I know it's from the 09-10 season but it's my favorite United jersey and much better looking than the recent ones (got in in long sleeve too).

I'm not familiar with British airways specifically but my way around paying for luggage is to carry it on then gate check it so I donlt actually bring it on the plain. Saves me time, other passengers space in the bins and most importantly it's free :).

Also this means your bag has to get through security approved so make sure it's in order in that regard.

So you are the bane of our existence!!! :p LOL, as a frequent flier (approx. 162,000 butt-in-seat miles a year) I am always peeved how departure times get pushed back because too many people decide they are going to beat the system and bring their luggage to the gate and check-it in the there to save the checked-baggage fees!

I know some carriers have already started cracking on this; and there is talk of several airlines charging a penalty for gate check-in.

That being said to help out the original .316, my advice for your mom (and in turn you) to avoid the baggage fee is to make sure your Mom signs up for a frequent flyer card. British Airways has Executive Club, and I think with a transatlantic trip, your mom may be able to make bronze status which should allow her to check two bags for free. The other option for you might be to upgrade your mom from World Traveller to World Traveller plus, which will also automatically allow her to bring along two pieces of luggage. In my opinion the upgrade to world traveller plus can be had for very cheap, especially when BA runs these sales (which are almost always since WT+ is often undersold). That way the money you spend will actually allow your mother more comfort and its not like you are just paying for the the baggage.

Odd to see an American buying a football shirt, but then I know people with NFL jerseys

Mom left a couple of weeks ago to spend some time with her sisters in Florida, so I HAD to place a small order, since some stuff here in Greece is expensive.

I also got stuff like underwear, cologne, excedrin, fish oil, multivitamins, clipper blade replcements, Biore, etc.

Where was the excedrin found!? Every since the recall I can not find it anywhere, I've heard they will not be offering the extra-strength anymore either. It's the only thing that works when I have a headache.

While it wasn't a purchase, I DO plan on dumping some money into it. A customer came into our store looking to trade his Macbook Pro in for a new one. Unfortunately, it has a cracked glass panel over the display, and we can't do a trade in on a broken computer. He asked "Well could you guys recycle it? Or do you want it?". Normally I wouldn't take a computer from a customer, but this thing is nearly flawless. I can get a replacement glass panel for $100 and have the piece installed is free, since I work for a company with a service depot :D It's far from the most powerful computer out there, but it's more than functional! Specs are:

2.53GHz Core 2 Duo
4GB DDR3-1067 RAM (upgrading to 8GB next month for fun)
250GB 5400RPM HDD (might give it a 60GB/120GB SSD + 1TB storage drive next month as well)
Nvidia GeForce 9400m. Not an amazing card, but it gets the job done for what I want to do on it!)

It barely has any signs of wear and tear on it except for the very few minor marks around the edges. It's mainly going to be used as my everyday "Facebook/iTunes/email/movies" computer, and it will do that very well :) Plus it was free, so WOOHOO! But one thing I refused to do: Sell it. I was given it for free on good faith. I don't want to try and profit off of it. I could easily get a few hundred dollars for it, but that's not right. Karma will come back an bite me for that.

To be fair, I don't do this with all flights, but 90% of my travel lately has been regional. If you've ever used a regional jet, you'll know the overhead bins are slightly larger than a glove box and the airline wants $25 to check my bag. I don't agree with a fee for the first bag so I "carry" it on and use gate check. On longer flights, overseas or cross country, there's usually one bag free in which case it's no big deal to check my bag.

This is true. On a regional jet you shouldn't be expected to check what is normally a carry on but since overhead bins are crap you are forced to gate check. I don't think there should be a penalty for people who don't check a carry on when they're flying a regional. Not everyone knows what flying a regional jet really means to luggage. Now if you do take something that isn't a true carry on expecting that you will gate check it to avoid fees then you're simply holding up an already delayed process. To each their own though. I don't fly as often as I used to but I choose not to make myself part of the delay problem.

exactly. I have a bag that is perfect size to carry on any reasonable flight but doesn't fit on regional planes. People sometimes forget that even though gate checking is an option you can't fit your GIGANTIC suitcase through the security machine. That's usually funny. Flying in general sucks though. It used to be fun and enjoyable. Now it's just a chore and a test of my patience.

Yeah I understand that, just always seems like the cultural mixing is a one way street, with the Uk paying attention to US culture but not the other way around.

Although soccer is a laughable name :p

Don't start the soccer debate. We all know Association Football, Rugby Football, American and Canadian Football, Aussie Rules Football and Gaelic Football come from the same idea, just with differences in rules.

My last purchase:

reebok_3K_Elbow_pad_1.jpg

AAAACwUK9uIAAAAAAaAOBQ.jpg

Elbow pads for $12.50 and Shin guards for $20 on sale, still need a load more equipment, for Hockey, but as I think I'll still need to take intermediate skating lessons after, I'll have some more time to get shoulder pads, helmet, shorts, stick and gloves for when I'm ready to start playing...

If a customer ever comes in wanting to recycle a 13" MBP or MacBook Air, tell him I recycle laptops. ;)

Hella nice computer, man. Congrats!
