Finally got some speakers that aren't the ones in the 27" ACD. I also seem to have a thing for B&W, as these now join my P5 headphones and C5 earbuds!

a 15" 2011 Macbook Pro, 2.2 i7 as "warranty replacement" for my 2010 2.4 i5 15". They couldn't give me a new one but they could give me my money back... well that's easy upgrade then... Only took 2 months of repair jobs... but ahwell I'm back online again!

Apple did the same thing to me, but they replaced by early 08 machine for a 2011 machine ^_^!

Trendnet 8-port gigabit switch, to piggyback onto my Airport Extreme. Really wish that thing came with more ports!!

I disagree

One is heavy (yes, when trying to hold it up in bed, it's heavy) and for all intents and purpose, cannot be used in sunlight without a lot of awkwardness, and the other is lighter with a screen meant for reading for a significant period of time. There's a big difference. (and yes, we have one of each as well)

Haha, oh really? Please enlighten me, in what way are they not two completely different devices?

Well obviously they're different items in a literal sense but I don't look at it that way. I'm not trying to drum up an argument or be a troll. You say they're like having a bike and car but that's not how I view it.

its like a fixie and a road bike. The are essentially the same device. one might be for fun (kindle) or a fad, the other for serious work/serious entertainment (ipad)

The Kindle is an amazing e-book reader, I can literally use it for hours on end without getting any eye strain. The web browser is about as bad as a web browser can get and still load pages, but it does play MP3:s. So it does pretty much one thing: it acts like paper. Incidentally, that's pretty much the only thing the iPad can't do.

You can read on the iPad as well as on the Kindle, you can also surf and play music on them both. But that's all you can do with a Kindle, and it performs two of the tasks really badly (music and browsing, if it was unclear ;)). But when it comes to reading, there just isn't any comparison.

Reading on the iPad is like browsing web pages on the Kindle. You just don't do it unless you really, really have to or have no idea what's out there.

I travel light, but I bring both the iPad and the Kindle on my trips.

If you're talking about the Kindle Fire and the iPad I can agree with you somewhat, but this wasn't the Fire... :)

Others have explained why I have both. However the kindle picture was actually just the lighted case as I didn't have one before.

They are completely different animals. It's like asking why someone would have both a car and a bike.

I agree. I have both a Kindle Touch and the new iPad. It KILLS my eyes to read for extended periods of time on the iPad.

Hoping to solve my cable modem signal issues

The best way to solve cable modem issues is to call tech support and have them increase the power on their end. Using the booster creates problems like too much outbound power and noise. You pay your ISP every month, it's their job to make sure your connection works.
