I am so sick of hearing about bad experiences with the new iMac's. This is my first Mac ever after 17 years on Wintel, and I have only one thing to say. I love my new 24" iMac, it's hands down the best computer I have ever owned. So here it is lets post our iMac success stories. I play WoW on my new iMac, and after that 1.1 update the textures look amazing now. I love multitasking, iPhoto, iMovie, etc... this thing has really brought out my creative side.

Always good to see people who want to praise their machines. Since most people write in to complain or ask for help when something goes wrong, we can develop a negative viewpoint from reading too many threads. Thanks.

Wow, what a machine. This is the 2nd iMac that I've owned and my 3rd apple. This thing is fast. The monitor is gorgeous, runs virtually silent, and is stunning to just look at. I use it for internet, email, photography, video editing, watching movies, music, word processing etc. I think that we're only limited my our imaginations in what it can do for you. It's so much fun that I can easily lose hours on end. I'll be playing away and before I know it, 3 hours have passed.
I have had zero issues regarding monitor, freezing, noise, even glare. Just a beautifully designed piece of technology. Having said that, I still have people saying, "WOW" when they see my G4 iMac.
Have fun and I'm glad to see so many happy iMac owners.

Mick

It just works ! :) and looks great while doing it ... how many things can you say that about these days !

Thats should be the new slogan

"It just works"

My alu imac 24" is a marvel, i wish i had a camera.

Even us somewhat reserved Canadians are shouting out our joy for the new iMac. I wanted one for the past 20+ years, as I was stuck in the Windoz world, and when the Aluminum ones came out, it was time.

My last PC was a Compaq notebook running Windows Vista that I bought last December. What a joke that Vista is.

I use mine for pretty basic stuff like email, web sites, some Word Processing, but since I got it 3 weeks ago, I have created a flyer in Pages, tinkered with a movie clip in iMovie, synced with .Mac, listened to iTunes, and just admired the thing.

Aside from the beauty of the machine, the Apple User Community has been fantastic. I have posted some questions here and on the Apple Support Discussion Groups and the responses have been very quick and right on.

I'm even thinking of getting a Macbook as well for portability.

So, there seems to be some truth to the slogan "Once you go Mac, you never go back"

20" model

I'm a new switcher with a 20" 2.4 GHz model, and I couldn't be happier.

The only thing that has me depressed is thinking of all the hours of my life I wasted maintaining a Windows PC, rebooting after system crashes, and trying (often unsuccessfully) to get various things to work that are unbelievably easy to accomplish on a Mac.

Love my new 24" iMac. I was a bit worried about glare on the screen, but it hasn't presented a problem at all.
Quiet, fast, looks good. Can't ask for anything more.

Just got my 24" "Extreme" iMac a week ago - love it. Very fast & responsive compared to my previous G5 Power Mac. The screen is great. The reflections are really not an issue in my setting, I have no funky color casts and it is so quiet. Best Mac I've owned.

I've got the bottom of the line 20" iMac. Couldn't be happier with the aluminum beauty. I use it for writing, email, web surfing, music and photo management, light graphic design (complete amateur) and light video editing (small home movies for the :apple:TV and iPod touch). Best computer I've ever owned next to the MacBook Pro.

Switched in 2000. Forced to use Windows at work in 2006. Worst year of my life.

Unless you are talking about taking a picture of the computer then you do have an iSight cam. :D

I'll add that this is the best computer I have bought to date.

I just got mine on Monday. Loving it so far. After 20 years on a PC, it is so nice to have troube free computing.

Now that I went Mac, I will never go back :)
