Why do clowns like you bother responding. I asked a logical question

If you think it's a logical question, I can certainly understand why you would create the thread.

Explains everything.

Good luck on your "search."

Why do clowns like you bother responding. I asked a logical question

Unfortunately it is one that's been asked and answered multiple times already and the title is just a bit slanted don't you think? "Post Here if you're getting fed up with your iPad" ??

And yet many others --not fed up-- are posting. Seems like we are not following instructions. I am not fed up either. So did you want only the "fed up" to post? If so, doesn't seem like a great way to gather information.

Just my perspective!

I notice a lot of people saying it's fine if you don't buy into the claim that it could replace a laptop or any other computer. But here's the thing... my iPhone HAS replaced my Macbook Pro. I won't get rid of it because I use it to back up my iPhone and there are those apps that I use once every few months that must be done on a machine with OSX (or Windows)... but 99% of my computing is done on the iPhone. Not just content consumption, but content creation. I write a blog, I record for podcasts, I design art work, I enjoy games, watch TV and movies (and Youtube), listen to music, read ebooks, edit documents, and I also use the iPhone for all the "normal" computing like browsing the net, checking emails, having an electronic calendar etc. For me, the iPhone has pretty much replaced my Macbook Pro and iMac. The iPhone is one of the most important things I have ever purchased and has influenced my life in a really big way. Portable computing is what I do now, and the iPhone does everything I need it to do.

So now we're talking about a similar device that is faster, with a bigger screen, better user interface, and more functional apps. I don't have an iPad, so I cannot comment until the International release and even then I want to use it for a while before reviewing... But the iPad will have to be WORSE than my iPhone if it isn't going to replace a laptop, because the iPhone has already managed to do it. For me at least.

No, you asked one with a deliberately provocative subject line. Take the reactions you got as a lesson for future forum experiences. Neutrality is better if you're truly just trying to 'gather data'.

Ill give you my review. i love the iPad despite any limitations it may have, AND even ignore the fact that it is made by Apple and has the closed ecosystem. While many in this thread will defend Apple to the ends of the earth, I am not like them. I dont like Apple. I hate iTunes, but the iPad is one nice piece of hardware. The instant on, long battery life, and couch-surfing ability is why i bought. In that regard I was happy with it. The lack of multitasking is my biggest complaint. Currently there is no killer apps in my mind. I did get rid of it because I am getting a 3G version. The iPad wont replace a notebook or desktop, but coexists well.

The only thing I'm fed up with is man damn thumbs are almost blistered from reeling in monster fish playing FlickFishing HD! (damn game is addicting)

In all seriousness, I'm addicted to the Ipad. I cannot put it down. I got the 16gig for free from my buddy and I cannot wait till I get my 32gig 3G on Friday.

It comes with me everywhere. Gym, restaurants, work, etc. I get stopped 10+ times a day and I find myself doing a demo for it. People really seem to think it's amazing and I think I've probably sold tons of them for Apple. :)

Every night I find myself saying "OK, you've got to be up early. 15 more minutes and then it's bedtime". Well, 2 hours later I'm still saying "15 more minutes and it's bedtime". LOL.

I LOVE MY iPAD!

Thank you to the civilised posters, your'e observations have been most helpful.
To the others, well, a life and learn a little manners, it goes a long way. Once again, thank you to the decent ones

Not bored of it yet on my end! I use it more than I thought I would when I first bought it.

Funny, this is almost precisely in line with my view of the device (as someone who wants to buy an iPad, but it isn't available yet here).

IMO, it's not as much of a "solution" as the iPod or iPhone. Unusually for Apple it's a device without an obvious killer feature, but I think within a few months there's going to a raft of iPad app launches, and they'll define the success or failure of the device, not Apple.

The wow factor wore off really quick. Kind of uncomfortable to use in my opinion. But ..... don't get me wrong. I'm definitely not regreting buying my 32 GB iPad! Is it perfect? No! It will get better with updates and when I get a proper case for it. I will definitely appreciate it more the first time I use it when traveling!

I would buy one if i were you. Be prepared to spend some cash on HD apps and you'll really appreciate it.

Cheers.

With the iPad getting a good field testing in US for us Europeans over the last few weeks, I'm curious how many of you have already got fed up with it, getting fed up with it or consider it a waste of money. Clearly, as the novelty factor will be shortly wearing off and consumer reviews should be a lot more objective than a couple of weeks back, I'd be more interested in the views of the early adopters for this reason

If one were to buy an iPad solely as a novelty, then I can see possibly getting "fed up" with it at some point. However, if one were buying it because they saw a genuine use for the product, I don't see how they could ever get "fed up" unless they somehow found a better device to perform its function.

I've had mine since launch and can say that I am certainly NOT fed up with it. In fact, I am finding more uses for it.

I have found that it has rekindled (no pun intended) my interest in reading. There are thousands of public domain books available and I have downloaded and tagged about 50 of them. I had to stop since I already have a ton to read.

Apps are very nice, but I agree that developers have a bit of catching up to do. Some of my favorite apps are not iPad ready and that has made me search for alternatives and get rid of some old favorites. Two apps that have been difficult for me to decide on have been VNC apps and a printing app - two things that would have been really nice to have come standard, but I can understand why they were left out.

Casual gaming is a blast also. Tons of good quality free games are available, so it is easy to find something you like.

I use my MBP as a desktop and disconnect it when I travel, so the iPad's portability within the house is terrific. Couch surfing and such is wonderful.

All in all, I am impressed. I admit that I bought it because Steve told me to buy it, but it is extremely useful. It cannot replace my MBP for content creation, but that it not what it was designed to do and I knew that from the beginning. As long as you know that and accept it for what it is, I doubt that you could get "fed up" with it.

My opinion of course...

I think this is a great thread actually--and very useful. I think there will be more objective posts on the iPad in a few months. That's when everyone and their mother will have an iPad, and early adopters won't feel so special anymore.

I definitely am not fed up with it.

For me, the 32 gig Wi-Fi is a really good fit for my lifestyle. I used to use my Iphone to play games and surf while watching tv, and read the occasional ibook, but the Ipad is much better suited for that so it has replaced my iphone as my in home entertainment device. I really enjoy reading the paper with a cup of coffee, then reading a book for awhile, playing a quick game, catching up on emails, forums etc... etc... Personally, I see the ipad as a combo ereader/netbook and use it accordingly. I saw someone refer to the iPad as a "smartbook" which I think is a fitting term for it.

I don't feel it. I never got sick of my iPod Touch's usefulness, I don't see my love for the iPad going away for awhile if ever.

Well the HUGE and SUPER ANNOYING problem I'm having with ***MY*** iPad is that the sucker is still sitting unopened on the shelves of my nearest Apple Store.

I hope this ENORMOUS PROBLEM with the iPad will be resolved sooner rather than later! :D

I don't regret the Ipad at all. It's made my life simpler, easier, and happier. I hate time I spend at a desk behind a computer, even if it IS a Macbook Pro, as nice as they are. It's still a computer on a desk. I could take it to the couch, but I like my Magic Mouse more than the trackpad, nice as it is. The MBP is bigger, heavier, hot, the battery dies far faster if you're doing anything other than extremely light use. And it's just not "fun" to work on. The Ipad is my go-to machine, period. I use it all the time. It's by my side pretty much any time I'm at the couch as long as our 16 month old daughter isn't around - she insists on seeing it and will try to smack at it with her hands. (I know she can't hurt it but she could easily knock it out of my hands if I'm not paying enough attention, or throw something onto the screen.)

If anything, I slightly regret buying my Macbook (my first Mac) last summer. (Shock! Horror!) Obviously no one knew we would be seeing the then unnamed Ipad this soon, or ever, but if we had, I might have held off to check it out. If I could go back and re-do it, I most likely wouldn't buy the MBP at all and would get by on my wife's Windows box, as I barely do any work on the MBP now - it's an Itunes/CD ripping/burning machine for the most part (I'm a music freak.) I can easily do everything I do on the Windows machine . . . I would just prefer it on the Mac. But I don't "need" it like I thought I might. Everything I "need" to do besides printing, Itunes syncing, and CD/DVD stuff can be done on the Ipad at this point, and that's where I do it. And that stuff can easily be done on the Windows box, even if I don't really like using it - I only need it for 10 minutes here and there. That's something to keep in mind for potential Ipad buyers: how often you really need your regular computer's main functions. I would say, if you think you'll still spend most of your time on the main computer, the Ipad is a waste. If you can see yourself switching over to the Ipad to do most of the stuff, then go for it.

I went into this knowing full well that it was a large iPod touch that did a little more. I did not have hopes and dreams of it having any sort of file system. I did not think that I'd craft an e-mail then decide I wanted to attach a pic in my gallery only to find out that's not how things work around here. I knew full well that it did not multi-task and it would not multi-task for a good 6 months (give or take). If you go into this knowing what you're buying and expecting nothing more of it then you should not be fed up with it. If you went into this saying it will replace any one computer completely then you're likely fed up with it or will be one day.

I love my $600 couch accessory.

Bingo! Couldn't have said it better myself.

Why do clowns like you bother responding. I asked a logical question

You have nobody to blame but yourself... As people have already posted numerous times the title all but screamed FLAME BAIT! Perhaps a more acceptable title would have gotten a better response. Just off the top of my head...

"iPad WIFI - 3+ Weeks In: Any regrets?"

A title like that would elicit far more positive reactions.

Is an Ipad perfect for an non computer savvy web surfing emailer!

After a month of owning my Ipad, I am very pleased with it. I have an elderly Mother who uses her pc for basic web surfing and emailing, but who is constantly doing things to crash her computer. Either the mouse doesn't work, some important file was erased, or she simply doesn't have the basic knowledge to solve things that will absolutely go wrong with a regular computer.
I am thinking about getting her an ipad so she can do what she likes to do without crashing the system. I just have to tell her to never touch the router and modem once i get it set up.
Anyone else buy one for an elderly person or someone not used to a computer, and what was their experience using it?

As long as you buy it for the right reasons, there shouldn't be an issue.

For instance, if you're buying it because you think it might be the one and only computer you need, chances are, it will fall short for you.

If you're buying it the bridge the gap between use from your iphone and desktop/laptop, chances are you'll love it.

I too am interested in the device being used by the more mature segment of our population... Hmm notice that as one gets older they find more and more 'elegant' ways to refer to the elderly? :D

Anyway.. if someone has some insights to people suffering from macular degeneration using the iPad please post... I'd love to hear a report (good or bad).

Yeah tired of the iPad a bit

Yeah i am a bit tired of the device.

I use my Kindle to Read not the iPad, i think if I didn't have a Kindle I would use the IpAd for sure. But alas I do.

Surfing... I would rather and do use my macbook pro

games... My kids love the ipad, me not so much

Nope not tired of it.

I love how it blends in my with my home entertainment system.
Rowmote + iPad = One kick ass home theater remote solution.

I am obssessed with tap tap Mos def quiet dog & tinnie tempahs pass out tracks.

This device have become my center for all media consumption.

I have spent about 150 bucks on apps alone.

My father is 82. I passed down my Mac Mini to him several years ago. He began to use email and loved the internet. (banking, news reading, recording golf scores, fantasy golf league, calendar, etc.)

His birthday was this month and so I got him a 16gb iPad. I was expecting to be constantly answering his questions but there have been very few. He sits with it in his lap as he watches tv each evening and surfs. I get emails now with the "Sent from my iPad" signature. The "touch" interface is excellent for he and my mother, who by the way, is using it anytime he puts it down. So, there is at least one "older gentleman" who is very happy and somewhat proficient. Here is his picture opening the iPad.
