My Macbook had just turned into the master blaster machine I had intended it to be. My photos were loaded, video clips, and music were finally all loaded. Then the random shutdowns happened. Took it in to Genius Bar. They replaced logic board, heatsink. It lasted a few days. Then kernel panics began. Took it in again. They said it was the RAM. They replaced it. It lasted 8 hours and kernel panic still occurred. It's at the Apple Bar for the 3rd time. They were thinking maybe it's the hard drive. Based on what I've read on this forum I don't think it's the hard drive. It's the original core duo. We'll see what the resolution is with this repair. I like the design of the machine, it's pretty quick, the screen is a bit small as I now sit and type this on my old Titanium 500 mhz. Whatever you purchase, I would recommend apple care and pro care. It seems to be saving my tail this time.
