Yeah, good shot, but the post-processing didn’t quite do its job. It’s going to be great one Apple refines it.
It’s not going to happen. It’s physically impossible on this hardware, software won’t fix that. Apple needs to add more hardware for it to work better.

I’d love to see the bokeh capture charmanda’s flaming tale, lol.

all those close up pictures are really not the best thing to talk about better camera quality...
[doublepost=1506186822][/doublepost]all those close ups dont prove that much guys... post different pictures.

I want to get a sense of photo quality of the 8. Please share photos taken with the iPhone 8 here! If you have taken photos in addition to the 8 photo that can be used for comparison, please share those too!

There are too many 8+ photos, but not enough for comparison. Pictures found online work too.

Yeah I’ve noticed that too...can’t complain over a phone camera and a quick shot.

I wish Apple would use better edge detection, I’m still playing around with it. Overall the pictures are decent, the lighting effects (or algorithms being used) needs to be tweaked for sure

Haha. I went into Apple Store and on phone are some samples. They may do it w no retouching but everything is set up perfect for the shot. The average person trying to do some of that stuff isn't going to get that shot. It's great don't get me wrong but they sure know how to glamour it up. Like the bokeh. I use it and I'm no prob but even I can tell how it not that great

While it’s noticeably better than my SE in some regards, it’s still suffers from the overly aggressive noise reduction. Not as bad as the iPhone 6 and 6S generation, but if you zoom in on an image you were still losing some fine detail to that weird paint effect

IMO the 7+ had issues with the ‘math’ between lenses. I tried 4 and went back to 6S+. Torn between 8 & 8+. Don’t really care about beta modes. Plus gets hefty but non+ feels so small. Definitely not interested in X.

IMO 6S+ is one of best cameras on any iPhone pre 8.

Yes it can happen. The new lighting effects are in beta. The same way portrait mode was in beta when iOS 10.1 released and has improved quite a bit since then via software updates.

The wide angle camera on the 8+ and the 8 use the same lens and sensor. No need to dismiss all 8+ if you’re interested in the image quality of the 8, just ask for no telephoto lens photos.

Not dismissing any 8+ photos, with or without telephoto lens. I just want to see more 8 photos, or 8 with 8 Plus so of an 8 Plus photo is posted you can compare with an 8.

You post way too much.

I love Macrumors. :)
You should post something more topic oriented. Posts like yours add no value to discussion :p
