We finally took Rabbit, our female kitten, to be fixed a couple of weeks back. We had forgotten how invasive the spaying is compared to neutering males; her belly was shaved, and she had to wear a cone for two weeks so she wouldn't infect herself trying to clean the area:

Her brother Gus was fascinated by the cone. As soon as she was liberated, he just had to try it on himself:

My flatmate and I have just adopted this lil beauty from a shelter today =)

Her shelter name was Maggie but that's the name of my flatmate's crazy aunt so out of the question (although I think it's perfect for her ). Initially we were calling her Garfield but now she's home it's just not right. Need to come up with a good one before flatmate comes home so she likes it!

Thanks for the name suggestions guys, in the end we went with Norma Jean at the suggestion of a friend... suits it perfectly (she's quite a poser!) and she purred all through some Elton John so I think she's happy with it too =)
