I keep wanting to buy this for some reason, but haven't yet, because i'm not really sure if it's useful or just cool.

I'm not even sure what it's supposed to do.
I ordered a 10-stop ND filter for use on my Nikkor 14-24 2.8 wide angle lens, and it's scheduled to arrive on Thursday. I can't wait to take it out for a spin .

I have that lens. How does it fit on due to the bulbous glass? I'd love to get one for it, but unless you buy a large filter holder set up, but normally they take square filters?
I purchased this filter hold kit ---see Steve Perry's excellent review here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_x_gwR3Hnw.
The kit comes with a polarizer, and I purchased the 10-stop here:

I was fortunate to have gotten the filter kit during Amazon's lightening round back in December on sale. I hope to take the 14-24 with filters out for a spin next week, and will try to post an image with the setup.
Steve Perry has done wonders with this setup; check out his images on his site.
Ok thanks. Will do. It's an awsome bit of glass, and filters are the one area I have been lacking with it. I have a good number for my 24-70mmand 70-200mm, but would love to get some to use with this one.
You're welcome. We have similar kit, except I went with the 24-120. If you plan on keeping the 14-24, then the Wonderpana filter kit is a must if you want to shoot waterfalls and/or long exposure.
Certainly will be keeping it. Unfortunately all photography purchases are on hold at the moment, as I'm planning on getting a D750 at The Photography Show in March.
Okay. The D750 is a fine camera. I am currently debating getting the D810, D750 or D3s. They are all upgrades to my D700, so I can't really make a bad choice but the debate in my head continues
Welcome to FX --- you're going to notice a difference in your pics.
I had an opportunity to buy a used D3 from work a while back. I decided against it mostly because of the size and weight. I carry so many lenses, I couldn't imagine carrying that beast around all day as well. Fine if you do a lot of studio work.
You don't mention the D610 as an option. It's one I've considered, but like the idea of the pivoting screen for macro shots. However, I might see what the pricing is in March and decide then.
The D610 is also worth consideration, especially at the prices at which they are being offered. I have a swivel screen on a D5000, and rarely use, but maybe I would in a primary camera.
At this point, the D810 is the front runner, specifically for ISO 64 and the 36 MPs, though the high ISO performance of the D750 is major as well. Decisions, decisions
