My wife was exceedingly nice to me this year, allowing my to pick up two early Christmas presents - a new GlassBook Pro and a 1TB WD My Book Home external HDD. That, and visits from my wife's family (and telephone calls to mine), were really all I wanted. I hope everyone had a great Christmas! Here's to a more prosperous 2009 than 2008!

Your first statement is incorrect; your second statement is correct. Philips Lite-on (otherwise known as PLDS) is indeed the company which manufactures the drive in question.
