Two main reasons, the first is that we use iplayer and AirPlay to our atv, I wanted to be able to control this from my work whilst not losing the ability to work. So an imac made more sense than a Thunderbolt Display. Second is aesthetics looks so much better matched by design rather than the height difference. As an ancillary I was able to take the memory from the main machine full spec custom imac, to a base machine. So running 32 and 16. I don't do anything creative just love my macs.
Problem has been command F2 switching, only the apple keyboard supports this, my Logitech k811 doesn't work for this. Apparently Logitech are working on this. I got the lacie blade as well, love the look of it, although a little noisy.

I need to see a stool hight set ups, something where I can stand while using the computer. Also too one of the benefits to an imac is space saving. I wish to take full advantage of this feature and keep with the simple uncluttered look...Anyone has this?

For an example:

Ikea's wall hack

this is nice too....

How did you mount your audio interface to the desk?

Got a few 1" L brackets at the Depot. took off the part that generally attaches to the rack and screwed in brackets. did it in the back too but i had to pop out some screws first.

And...does this sound normal to you? I think it is from the fan. Not this loud but audible in a very quiet room.

well my fan definitely doesnt sound like that. that sounds like the fan is rubbing against something making almost a clicking sound.

I think robbing the iMac of its stand is the Achilles Heel of Sir Ive's design, besides it seems to destroy the essence of a desktop, in my opinion that iMac seems to hit rock bottom :p.

Is the stand removable?
