Is there a way to set the screen capture (Cmd + shift + 4, spacebar) so it doesn't have any border at all?

It's capturing the shadow. I run ShadowKiller at all times and it solves the problem, or I think there is an app that lets you change a setting to not capture the shadow.

I know ShadowKiller says it does not work in 10.5 or 10.6 but I have been using it without issue on all versions of OS X since 10.4.6.

Core Duo running strong and proud. Runs better then my old Rev. C MacBook Air, faster in handbrake too!

Mac Pro with 2 Xeon 5100 series "Woodcrest" processors. Still running 10.5 Leo:apple: It's crazy, my 2003 iMac has more RAM than my Mac Pro.:D But this mofo can encode huge video files like hell. But my favorite is still and always will be my iMac.

what work do you do?

(i should know this already but i dont hah)
My card says I'm an Online Developer.

Most of the time I'm programming in php (to get our custom made CMS system to behave), and also a bit html/css/javacripting/etc, most of the time directly on some online website.

So, my main work tools are Coda (and Transmit) and the odd Photoshop-job. All of those run nicely on the Server. And I do have an iMac at work, so the home machine is just for the odd fix and a side project or two.

I also need the server to run a few hobby apps: Lightroom (which I own) or Aparture (which I consider switching to) and, of course, iPhoto for photo management from my DSLR and point-and-shoot, respectivly... :)

I also have all my music in iTunes at the server already.

ahhh ok im with you. so its just a machine for light-medium use (unless you multi-task alot?). you perfectly specc'd it then!

so its a macbook/macbook pro? odd sort of thing to have as a server. uses less power tho i guess.

nice hobbies :) i want to get into video production.

Nah, it's the Mac mini server (hooked up to my 1080p HD TV). ;)

I actually used to be a video editor 10-15 years ago, and even though I haven't tried video editing on the Mac mini, but I would guess it would excel at handling Final Cut Express (or iMovie).

of course!! completely forgot about the macmini! sorry haha. it really does seem like a pretty powerful machine, for its size anyway.

10-15years ago? wow technology would have changed since then! everythings all digital now! but yes i really do love video editing and those sorts of things, im not exactly sure what area i would want to get into - maybe just FCP editing and not actually the "filming" side of it (im not very creative).

Early 2009 MacBook AL_Unibody

Bought this imacculate MB Unibody (Aluminum) yesterday; and although I've probably posted like crazy ... saving for 3mths and working my arse off paying bills on-time, reducing debt and still treating the kids ... this is just pure nectar sweet.

I've wanted a semi modern Mac for oh so long and right now I'm just trying to install themes on Snow Leopard (Ceasar or Veritas) and cannot seem to get those to work.

:apple:
