Because it breaks the balance of what a bedroom is supposed to be. A peaceful, quiet, non-stimulating area (well, for when you're sleeping or trying to sleep, that is :p)...
My TV has a power off button that makes it peaceful and quiet when I want to sleep. ;).

That's not the point, but yeah, obviously anything can be turned off.

There is actually some science to it (with links to sleeping disorders) as well as some more philosophical metaphysical feng shui type **** that goes along with it.

I guess I will worry about it when I actually get a sleep disorder.

The upsides to having it in the bedroom are:
1. If I am sick or my back is bothering me, I can watch TV
2. If someone is watching something in the living room that I don't want to see, I have another comfortable place to watch something else.
3. If I want to play the PS3 (which I will admit is rare lately), I have a place out of the way to do it.
4. If my main TV breaks, I have a backup. (This actually happened and my TV was gone for weeks)
5. It helps to have a display for when I want to listen to music via web sources

I think these beat some sort of new age recipe of how energy flows in the room, but I have no problem if you worry about such things...of course, worrying too much about setting it up just right could cause more stress and lead to sleep disorders.;)

Uh, ok. I honestly didn't have an opinion either way I was just explaining *why* someone would not want it.

At this day and age, when I am considering getting rid of my own TV, I look at your reasons for having one in your bedroom and all I can say is... you must really love your TV(s).

More power to you, but don't let life pass you by while watching it on a screen :)

And lastly, "disorder" is a bit strong. It can be linked to anything from crazy sleep disorders all the way down to just having a bad nights sleep. It isn't about it being in a bedroom as much as how much you use it right before bed. So if you watch a movie or play a game, and then go right to bed, the stimulation can mess with you.

If it is in your bedroom, it makes it too easy to use it at any given time.

Anyway, downvote me some more TV fiends ^_^

The TV in my room is a total waste, to be honest. I only use it to play on my Xbox which I've been doing less and less lately. Thinking of taking it out and moving the Xbox to the living room. The computer though, I must leave in my room as there is nowhere else I can put it...

Nothing special...
got my Work area and Cupboards on 1 wall,
Bed, Cabinets and Door on another wall,
TV, Shelving, Airing Cupboard on the other wall,
and my Window and Shelving on the last wall..

and again it looks alot better in the Night,
because of the Lights around my Desk,
lights around my Bed, and Lights behind/under my TV.

When ever I see a bed like this I automatically think "I bet this guy never has a chick over".

Like, what would happen, you guys go out for dinner, then you tell her to climb the ladder to your bed whilst making sure she doesnt rock it too hard else the whole thing would collapse.

:D

I definitely had a bed fall off desks in a dorm room while in the act of coitus.

Love your setup, man. Is that desk setup uncomfortable to work with? Given there is not much legroom and such.

Everyone posts such nice photo's here, my crappy previous ones just do not fit in. Alas, here are some new, less crappy ones. This isn't much of a workspace, it's my bedroom, but you see where I'm going...

The desk. (iMac & Dell U2711 connected to the Lian Li X2000F.)

The Macbook Pro with Dexter decal from Etsy.

Television with PS3 and Xbox 360.

The bed, of course, is next to the Macbook Pro. :p

That's why TVs and computers all come standard with power buttons.

that picture quality for a projector looks impressive. usually most projectors wash out the image badly. I like the screen too. did you make that screen or did you buy it. never seen one like that. really nice.
