It's almost time to go boating, and surely there are other members with rides on the water.

Here is our 2006 Four Winns 180 Horizon, at the cottage in Gravenhurst, Ontario.

Amount of posts when the economy is good - (total including posts that don't have boats in them) 200-500.

Amount of posts when the economy is bad - "Lets see how many we can get in here in the next three hours before the Mods close the thread."

I would never own a boat unless I lived right on the water. Even though I'm 15 minutes from a lake it requires a lot of prep work just to get it there.

Even in a good economy, how many posts would you expect?

What does the economy have to do with it? Do digital pics cost sixty times as much these days? Even so, that would still make them free, wouldn't it?

maybe in a time of need some one might sell a luxury (i consider a boat to be a luxury, i don't know about you) to pay for the basics? just a thought...

Actually, what my post meant was that good economy or bad, there aren't that many people with a boat to post pictures of. But particularly not in a bad economy since, as bobfitz14 said, some people might be forced to sell such a luxury.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "time of need" and how that relates to the economy. If you're talking about someone who's been out of a job for quite some time, and has had to sell the boat to make ends meet, I see what you mean - but if you're still working, then what's the difference? Doesn't it make sense that such a person might still be able to snap a pic of their boat, regardless of what the credit market or Dow Jones are doing lately?

I don't have a boat (yet) - waiting for my son to get into school so we can stop paying for daycare. I'll post here when I get it, though.

She is an amazing ship. Nothing beats an Iowa class besides the Yamato class. Imagine if the Montana and Super Yamato classes were built. Imagine the number of planes it would take to take those monsters down( took over 300 planes to send Yamato to her grave).

Sweet! I'm just learning to sail. It's so fun. Sticking to Cats and Sunfish for now.

Sunfish are fun. I went down to Key West, FL and it was maybe 10-15 knot winds and I just zoomed around in one. Lots of fun. Sailing and flying are the best.

How do you like it? I've been looking at those for a couple years now. It would suit my family needs perfectly.

Anyway this is my family's boat that I grew up on. A 1987 Four Winns 225 Sundowner. It's old but me and my dad have kept it in mint condition. Can't wait to take her out on Lake Erie soon and catch some walleye!

17 ft Aquasport (1972) with an Evinrude 140. The motor needs some tweaking now and then but it just keeps going and going and going.
