It was originally in my stepmothers possession until she gave it to me. I don't quite know how she got a hold of it. She is Yu'pik Eskimo from Alaska and I think that some cameras were given out to take photos of possible soviet subs? or it could be that someone was in the European theater during the war and got a hold of one.jamesW135 said:I would Die to have one of those! Where did you get it?
I'm in the market for a digital SLR, but am having a hard time deciding. My main concern is having a camera that will take AWESOME pics at concerts! I do alot of reviews, so I really need excellent picture quality in dark shots with crazy lights. Point and Shoot cameras just are not cutting it, so it's time to step it up. I think it's down to these four:
-Canon Rebel XTi (Black)
-Nikon D70
-Nikon D80
-Olympus EVOLT E500
Any advice?
My Nikon D200+MB-D200 vertical grip, with the 300mm f/2.8D AF-S I (lens now sold).
My Nikon D2HS with my 200mm f/2.0G AF-S VR Super-ED, which is the best lens in existence. Despite being a bit shorter than the 70-200mm VR when neither lens has a hood on, it is just as wide as the 300mm f/2.8 and 200-400mm f/4, and weighs the same as the 300/2.8 and is only a bit lighter than the 200-400, which is nearly 2x as long.
My Vintage Nikon D1, which i'm converting to infrared and use for collecting/nostalgic reasons. No lens attached. That is the original styrofoam packaging.
Not pictured, but I also have a Nikon D70 hanging around, and several other lenses (Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8G DX, 28mm f/3.5 AI, 45mm f/2.8P 'pancake lens', 70-200mm f/2.8G AF-S VR) with more being added constantly in both body and lens categories. And a ton and a half of accessories for them.
My Nikons are excellent and I wouldn't trade them for...um...all the gold in Fort Knox....I would simply agree, take the gold, sell half of it, and buy back the cameras and lenses etc. and then go to town with the rest of the money
