I might be selling my 5D soon if you are interested.

Absolutely interested. Shoot me a PM with the details.

Anyways, here's a snap of my trusty little XT. I love this camera, it will make a fine second shooter at weddings and my portrait sessions once I get my 5D.

To those considering buying an XT, or to those already with one - get the battery grip - it makes the camera much, much more useable and ergonomic.

don't consider the 5D as "settling" it is a superb camera that takes superb images. the absolute detail you get from that almost 13MP chip is just amazing.

i love both of my cameras for different reasons. anytime i am shooting in a studio environment, it's always with the 5D, hands down. and most of my stuff on location is shot with the 1DmkII ( since it is a tank and can handle outdoor abuse better than the 5D, not that i abuse my cameras..)

maybe that is just me though, i dunno. but that is just usually how i break it down.

if im in the studio, or i need a lightweight "shoot from the hip" walk-around setup, i choose the 5D.

if im just outside shooting my regular stuff, or im shooting some kind of event, i usually grab the 1D since i can drop 2 memory cards in it, and its tough as nails.

I just got this camera today, the Sony DSC-W50. I really wanted a Sony DSC-T5, but they've been discontinued from sony. And the next one up on the T series was the T-9, but $399 is to much for me, the casual photographer. I really like it so far, and its only 2mm thicker than the T5.

My Nikon D200+MB-D200 vertical grip, with the 300mm f/2.8D AF-S I (lens now sold).

61121312-L.jpg

My Nikon D2HS with my 200mm f/2.0G AF-S VR Super-ED, which is the best lens in existence. Despite being a bit shorter than the 70-200mm VR when neither lens has a hood on, it is just as wide as the 300mm f/2.8 and 200-400mm f/4, and weighs the same as the 300/2.8 and is only a bit lighter than the 200-400, which is nearly 2x as long.

77004343-M.jpg

My Vintage Nikon D1, which i'm converting to infrared and use for collecting/nostalgic reasons. No lens attached. That is the original styrofoam packaging.

84702007-M-1.jpg

Not pictured, but I also have a Nikon D70 hanging around, and several other lenses (Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8G DX, 28mm f/3.5 AI, 45mm f/2.8P 'pancake lens', 70-200mm f/2.8G AF-S VR) with more being added constantly in both body and lens categories. And a ton and a half of accessories for them.

My Nikons are excellent and I wouldn't trade them for...um...all the gold in Fort Knox....I would simply agree, take the gold, sell half of it, and buy back the cameras and lenses etc. and then go to town with the rest of the money ;)

Finally I have arrived.....
I just got Canon D30 and a few lens (Tamron Autofocus 28-75mm f2.8 & EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM telephoto zoom lens). I am waiting for Canon 50mm f/1.4 which will be here by Monday. I may need to get Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM (for macro) or Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM (sharp portrait).
The tripod is Bogen - Manfrotto 3001-Pro Tripod with Bogen - Manfrotto Compact Ball Head.

and silentwave - Man you have some killer equipment.

hey, your collection isn't too shabby either ;)

maybe i'll post a pic tomorrow of my latest camera. my school gave me this huge old ID camera- takes 4 pics per polaroid , used to be used for school IDs and all that good stuff. Giant- has to be plugged in to the wall, no finder- just a little light projected with a bit of a pattern that seems to show up when focused.

The film was all expired for about the past 8 years, and not stored properly, but I bet it'll work great if I get fresh ones.
