Couldn't got ubuntu to run too slow. But this is a disk I had laying around. A Operating system call KolibriOS. It's written entirely in assembly. Runs on most computer. But you will need a PCI card to get internet/sound working.

@Majoris I have noticed that you have Desmume among your apps. How does it work on your PowerMac ? On my G4 it works very bad, and i wanted to play some nds games
It works but barely playable. It's a universal binary. I have the latest version. I'm pretty good with the settings. I can't get it to play smooth. Menus start clear sometimes. But, overall experience is crap. I just got it installed because, I have not test. Some of the less graphical intense games yet. I wouldn't install it if I were you. But 0.7.3 is suppose to be compiled for the G4. It's on sourceforge.

Here's a couple wallpapers from my PowerBook G3 (Wallstreet) days:

My first Mac was the G3 PowerBook with the 13.3" screen, 292MHz processor, and the super-hot 83MHz system bus (vs. the standard 66MHz). In it's day it was the bee's knees!!

Ha! The Shark - i worked with someone who claimed to have taken that shot, not for Apple - it was his own personal holiday snap :s He generally lied whenever his mouth opened :)

Here's my take on older Powermac's I use I tunes 4.7.1 why less BS overhead and it does what I want
If you are sticking with iTunes 4.x, here's something you may not know.

iTunes 4.0 is the ONLY version of iTunes that Apple enabled internet sharing on. You can connect to a shared iTunes library from outside your home network (assuming you open ports in your router) and stream your music from one iTunes to another.

Apple quickly disabled this with the 4.0.1 update and has never enabled it since - which is why you can now only share libraries on WiFi.

The default wallpaper from MacOS Sierra meets my G4 Cube running MacOS Tiger. It's surprising how much a simple change of wallpaper can freshen up an old OS.

This background is from my trip to California last month, just like the one I'm using on my iMac. I've also reorganized the Dock and removed all the FoxBoxes but one. Sadly they just have too many limitations compared to viewing the pages in the normal browser.

It has been a couple years since my last post, but below are my desktop pics. Ok well... the first one is. The second two are me showing off working 2d and 3d acceleration on Ubuntu Mate 16.04 on my late 2005 G5 Powermac with a Radeon HD 4550 video card.
