where have i seen this wallpaper before and where can i get it? I like the simplicity

It's the MacOS 10.4 Tiger default wallpaper.
A search for "Aqua Blue Wallpaper" will no doubt lead you to it.

What is that sidebar gadget on your desktop? Ta

It's a widget called "Rainmeter". It's highly customizable and it can display info like calendar, CPU activity, LAN activity, processes, Facebook updates, iTunes, weather, time, photos etc.

You must alter the packaged modules if you really want to fine-tune the software. For instance the CPU-grapher was coded to display 4-cores, I altered it to read and graph my 6-core 6350.

Perfect thanks. Are your modules your own or downloaded from somewhere?

The modules are packaged with the application. You have a plethora of them to choose from and you can edit the scripts. It's a PC only executable though. I see you own Macs.
