The modules are packaged with the application. You have a plethora of them to choose from and you can edit the scripts. It's a PC only executable though. I see you own Macs.

OK thanks. I have PCs as well and this might bridge the gap from using Geektool on my Mac.

I see. If you use Linux, there is a similar tool called Conky, which is really good too.
I have this strange desire to see interactive gauges, graphs and nonsense on my desktop all the time... :)

There is conky manager available on most distros that makes conky's easy. Heck it's easier to configure make make install than futzing with conky scripts.

True!
As you can see it made my boring desktop wallpaper look super fancy.

SnowJaguar...

Screenie is actually two themes as I couldn't theme the inactive titlebars.

Still a work in progress... I would like to pinstripe the dropdown menus - not possible methinks. Not sure what to do about the toolbar.

Total off topic aside, but since you're using it...

Does MS give you a way to collapse the Cortana search bar back into a single icon? Having it there makes the task bar feel too busy and crowded to me.

Yes. There is an option for that.

He's correct. With the small taskbar icons settings, it's just an icon, not the entire search bar. :)

Egh. Only problem with that is I don't like the small taskbar icons. : \

Oh well. I can live with it if I have to. It won't mess anything up for me, but I'd prefer to only see the whole thing when I need it.

edit: hey, turns out you can hide it without having to suffer through the small taskbar icons (which seem to be set to display a bit larger than they did in Win7/8). Welp, I have no complaints then.
