Love the docks. I got rid of Dashboard in the dock too, mine activates from the bottom left corner. Just wondering why people put media players in the dock or system preferences. System preferences is in the apple menu and the media players open on clicking media files. Just padding for the dock hey :) .

System Preferences is easier in the dock. Just one click instead of two.

I keep QuickTime Player and VLC in the Dock because often iTunes will take over for certain media files and I don't want them to open in iTunes because iTunes will copy them to its music directory. So I just drag them to QuickTime Player. I basically use QuickTime Player/VLC for playing temporary files, and audio I want to hold on to I put in iTunes.

I usually set files to open in specific apps when first using them, just my preference though. My desktop is probably messy for this reason.

...and that's just what it looks like now. Wait until I get a copy of iWork, and Final Cut Studio installed.

that's the duck, and the 2 linked chains.

The duck is CyberDuck (FTP program) and the chains are Parallels (to run XP on my macbook).
